Full description

On this intimate food journey, you’ll wander through quiet cobblestone streets, old family shops, and the iconic Art Nouveau aisles of Mercato Albinelli, discovering how centuries of craft and tradition shaped the flavors that made Modena world-famous.

Your experience begins at the city’s oldest bakery, where the scent of warm cakes and rustic pastries sets the tone for the morning. From there, you’ll slip into a tiny bottega to uncover the depth and soul of Modena’s most treasured ingredient: aged Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale. Each drop tells a story of patience, barrels, seasons, and the families who guard their recipes like heirlooms.

Inside Mercato Albinelli, beneath the watchful gaze of Graziosi’s fruit-bearing statue, you’ll sample the king of cheeses — Parmigiano Reggiano — across different maturations. Each age reveals something new: sweetness, nuttiness, crystals, complexity. Nearby, a freshly baked round Modenese bread and bright green pesto meet a glass of sparkling Lambrusco, the wine that locals drink with pride.

A true Modenese pasta dish follows in a historic restaurant where time seems to linger — a bowl built from tradition, technique, and stories passed down through generations. And because Modena takes dessert seriously, you’ll end with artisanal gelato crafted by people who treat it like a small, daily miracle.

Finally, you’ll taste our Secret Dish — revealed only on the day — a last reminder that Modena always has one more surprise to share.

Warm, generous, and deeply rooted in place, this is more than a food tour.
It’s an invitation into Modena’s way of life.
