Traveler reviews
Relaxing day on the river
It was a relaxing day on the river. The water was very low so it was a slow float. Our daughter loved getting out of the boat to swim in the river as well as going down the little rapids at the end.
Wonderful experience
Wonderful experience, smooth float down the Colorado river with a few rapids included. Nice lunch served by the river
Fun family time
Our family had 4 kids, ages 10 and up. We were worried our trip would be too mellow with the low water level in the river, but it was still a great time. Between the extra kayak, swimming, and water fights we enjoyed ourselves. Our guide, Ally, was a wealth of knowledge of the area and a great encourager of fun. :) Despite temps >100 and full sun we weren’t too hot and nobody walked away with a sunburn. Highly recommend!
Boring...
Sold as a 4 hr boat ride with rapids with snacks.... the rapids are more lime ripples, no snacks and its only 2 hrs!
Extremely disappointed
I booked the river rafting tour through TripAdvisor expecting an exciting experience based on the description provided. The listing advertised a 4-hour tour, with a snack at 9:00 AM, lunch at 12:00 PM, and another snack at 2:00 PM. The guide wasn’t rude, but he spent much of the trip getting in and out of the water. He was the only one paddling, and every time he wanted to explain something, he would either stop the raft completely or let the wind push us along. At times, I could literally stand up in the raft without any concern because the water was so calm. The actual rafting portion lasted only about 2 hours. When I asked about lunch, the guide replied, “If you want, I can give you some chips.” That was it. We spent more time riding on the bus than we did on the river. I complained at the office afterward, and they simply told me that the 4 hours referred to the entire experience and that no meals or snacks were included—only the river trip. So, my husband and I paid $210 for what turned out to be little more than a short, calm float down the river. We left feeling extremely disappointed because the experience was nothing like what was advertised.
