Itinerary
The Santa Croce Basilica is the principal Franciscan church in Florence, Italy, and a minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church. It is situated in Piazza di Santa Croce, about 800 meters south-east of the Duomo. It is the burial place of some famous Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, the poet Foscolo, the philosopher Gentile and the composer Rossini, which is why it is known also as the Temple of the Italian Glories.
Piazza della Signoria is the L-shaped square in front of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. It is the main point of the origin and history of the Florentine Republic and still maintains its reputation as the political focus of the city. It is the meeting place of Florentines as well as the numerous tourists, located near Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza del Duomo and is where you enter to the Uffizi Gallery.
Say hello to Porcellino!
Galleria dell'Accademia was founded in 1784 by Pietro Leopoldo, the Grand Duke of Tuscany. It is an art museum best known as the home of Michelangelo's sculpture of David. It also has other sculptures by Michelangelo and a large collection of paintings by Florentine artists, mostly from the period 1300–1600.
Piazza del Duomo is located in the heart of the historical center of Florence. The square contains the Florence Cathedral (the Duomo) with Brunelleschi's dome, Giotto's bell tower, the Florence Baptistery and more.

Traveler reviews
Perfect family activity
Surprised to be the first reviewer on TA. That said, we are a 3 generation family with grandkids from 8-17. This was an absolutely fantastic tour to keep the kids engaged while walking through a city and a museum. It starts with a contest pitting the kids against the adults earning points for answering questions and locating emblems, figures etc and naturally ending with the kids beating the pants off of us. My wife and I have been to florence numerous times and we actually learned a bunch of things that we did not know. Perfect activity for the family
Great informative tour.
Giulia was great with the kids. She was patient and good at keeping their attention. The kids actually learnt something.
