Itinerary
Meet your guide near the Colosseum to begin a fun-filled 2.5 hours learning about ancient Rome. This special tour of the ruins of ancient Rome will take you and your family through the magnificent highlights of the ancient city of Rome. Gain access to the Colosseum, known as the most old and grandest amphitheater of the Roman Empire.
You will learn about the full-blooded gladiators (actually slaves) that fought brave battles against one another or they’d fight ferocious animals (which were imported from all around the world to entertain the mesmerized crowd) to save their own lives. These were the best gladiators who came to Rome to put their lives on the line to fight for the ultimate prize – a chance for their freedom.
After closing your gasped expressions from viewing the Colosseum you will wander over to the Roman Forum and stroll along the ancient and cobbled streets to learn about the life of the early Romans. Not only will you see the mystical ruins of the Emperor’s Palace, the Arch of Titus and ancient temples, you will gaze over important political buildings from the time of the great Roman Empire.
The best thing about this tour and out of any other tours in Rome is the fact that it’s a favorite tour to entice kids into the midst of Roman history, something that is very important. The tour is fully outdoors and the itinerary and stories they’ll learn are really exciting and it’s perfectly okay if they touch things. As with any ruins there are boundaries to be respected however being outdoors is better than being inside a busy and packed boundary lined museum as there are fewer restrictions - they can explore and imagine about more interesting places.
This fun walking tour lasts 2.5 hours and you can take this tour any day of the week, with the exception of certain major holidays. The entrance ticket you’ll get is good for two days meaning you can return again later if you wanted after the tour has completed. It is recommended that you make reservations well in advance with this tour as schedules fill quickly and last minute tours will not always be available.

Highly recommend
Well organized tour, the 2 1/2 hours flew by. We were there with our grandsons age 9 and 10. And another family with similar aged children , so small group. No need for filly tapes and microphones. Roberta was our guide and she was exceptional, kept all of us interested from age 7-79! She brought us back to Ancient Rome and made the ruins come alive for the children. Being an art historian, she answered everyone’s questions. Highly recommend this.
Absolute with kids
This experience was amazing. Our tour guide, Donato, was engaging and very knowledgeable. He managed to keep our kids (7 and 5) interested and happy the whole time - this allowed us to spend more time at both the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. It was well worth the price. I would highly recommend doing this if you have kids school aged.
Great
Roberta was an amazing guide and great with kids, very knowledgeable and interactive
Very good
We loved the tour and we had such a great time. Roberta, our tour guide was very friendly.
Coliseum and Forum for Kids
5 star tour with Marco. He was well prepared (knew all the kids names beforehand!). Keep the kids interested and engaged with his stories, anecdotes (and sound effects!)…great time by all - the kids (ages 10-17) ranked this the best tour of their trip.
