Extremely Disappointing Experience
I booked an Abu Dhabi trip online through RAH Tourism, and honestly, the first tour went well. Our guide, Bilal, called a day early to confirm timing and location, and he arrived exactly on time. Everything was smooth, so I decided to trust him again and booked a Dubai Desert Safari for November 17th at 2:30 PM, as he personally told me. I paid immediately through the link they sent on WhatsApp, and even double-checked with Bilal to make sure the link was genuine. The day before the safari, I expected someone from RAH Tourism to contact me—like any professional tour company would—but no one did. I waited until 7 PM and ended up calling their customer support number I found online. The representative seemed confused and even asked who referred me. When I said “Bilal,” he finally gave me a booking number and told me the pickup time was changed to 3:00–3:30 PM. I accepted the change and waited. On the actual day, I waited until 3:30 PM… and no one showed up. I called them more than 20 times—no answer. Only after I texted Bilal did he respond, blaming me for not informing him earlier, even though their own staff told me the pickup time was 3:00–3:30 PM. Finally, someone contacted me on WhatsApp and the driver arrived at 4 PM, already close to sunset. By the time we reached the desert, it was completely dark. We were taken straight to the camel ride and dinner area. We missed all the main activities—sandboarding, photo spots on the desert dunes, quad biking, and the actual safari experience. I paid AED 650 for a private package and ended up watching a show in the dark with an upset infant. It was stressful, disappointing, and absolutely not what we booked for. There was zero communication between their staff, zero responsibility taken, and no follow-up from RAH Tourism even after the awful experience. For what I paid, this was NOT worth it at all. We didn’t book a “dark safari” — we booked a proper desert experience that we never received. To anyone planning to book with RAH Tourism: please be careful. My experience felt unprofessional, unorganized, and honestly like a scam. I will never recommend this company to anyone.
Yes and no, good and bad
My desert experience this time was a yes and no as there were something I liked as well as disappointed with. The travel agency did a very good and responsible job since they contacted me the day before to ensure my pickup point — when I booked the tour I didn't reserve my hotel yet so I left the pick up blank. The day before I was all worried and anxious about where to meet and I didn't know where/ how to contact them either since l booked it through GetYourGuide. The driver kept me posted a few times the same day before coming so I knew exactly when I should get ready. The arrangement after the show and dinner was well-organized too. A few husbands people were leaving at the same time everything could be chaotic. Yet, our driver well communicated with us beforehand so that we could avoid the crowds and the traffic. Our driver took good pictures of us and helped wrap my head with so much patience, thumb up! Nonetheless, the downsides of this desert experience were: 1. We got stopped a few times — they expected us to get something from a store which I found uncomfortable with. 2. The desert wasn't what I expected — well, I assume there are numbers of deserts in Dubai that's why. My experience was far different from their pictures. Where I went to was a bit over an hour away from downtown and it wasn't infinity as thought; it’s rather small. I couldn't do sand boarding either since there were no significant gears to support, and the slopes were not high enough. It was quite disappointing. 3. The so-called camel ride was just a few minutes. It was just circling one small round — 1/2 size of a basketball court. I thought it would be in an infinity desert but it ended up with just like playing around the beach. The travel agency in fact did a good follow-up so as far as the management is concerned, it's a good company. I suggest them choose a better desert area because I believe how things organize in the desert area is nothing they can do; they co-operate with another party only. If they want to impress their customers and leave them a good memory, they truly need to pick a better desert area.
Excellent experience on the Evening safari!
Pre_booked this safari excursion online. Very easy communication with the company closer to the time with details of pick up time. Our driver and guide Abdul Majeed is an asset to the company. He arrived on time, and we set off for a thrilling experience. He carefully explained the entire itinerary, and off we went. The dune bashing was superb, and Abdul made sure we had a great time with his amazing driving skills and manoeuvres during the dune bashing. He was constantly checking to see if we were all ok. The sand boarding was also a wonderful experience. Abdul ensured everyone had enough of each activity, and he was in no rush at all, helping to take some amazing pictures of us.... Then, off to the desert camp we went. Camel ride, simple henna tattoo was good and quick. We settled for the BBQ dinner and shows. The shows (belly dancing, fire and tanoura) were very good, and dinner was ok. The BBQ chicken and lamb tasted very good, and we had more than enough. The fresh smoothies were superb (I had Kiwi for 10AED). The night ended with a spectacular fire show where the Dubai signage was lit up, and everyone joined in the closing dance celebration. All in all, it was a memorable experience not to forget in a hurry. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend 👍🏽 👌🏾 😀 👏 😊
Awesome experience!!!
We had an amazing experience as a family of 3 adults , 2 teens and 1 grade schooler! Great tour guide (QASIM) , great food & great shows! We really enjoyed this tour and we had an awesome time! I will recommend it to my family and friends! Thank you 🙏🏼♥️✨
Great desert safari - full experience, worth the low price!
Super fun desert safari worth the low price we paid! We were a bit concerned that the low price would mean we wouldn’t get the full experience compared to other companies but we were pleasantly surprised and were not disappointed at all with the experience! The dune bashing in the red sand dunes was a highlight. We were worried about getting car sick but our driver took care to make it really fun but not too extreme to get us motion sick. We were brought up to a beautiful view point at the top of the dunes to see the sunsetting and then we went to a campground where a short camel ride and a good buffet and dinner show was held. Note: There were 2 stopping points before the camp: one was when they had to deflate some of the SUV tires before the dune bashing and they had camel riding, ATV rides and toilets for a fee (we just waited around and watched others since a camel ride was included at our camp) and the 2nd stop was at some souvenir/snack shops while they reinflate the tires.
