An Archeological treasure, The best-preserved classical city in the Eastern Mediterranean. During the 1C AD, Ephesus was the second-largest city on the planet after Rome with more than 250,000 citizens. It was in the center of the known world and played the role of a gateway between the East and the West. With its giant harbor, it was also the center of trading in antiquity. It was not only a rich commercial city but also the honeymoon place of Mark Anthony and Cleopatra. It is also home to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, Temple of Artemis. Ephesus is also so well preserved that, walking on the ancient streets among the beautiful monuments such as the third largest library of the ancient world or the largest roman theatre on the Asia continent, gives you the feeling of a time traveler.
The Terrace Houses in Ephesus are among the most significant structures of the ancient city. Used from the 1st century BC to the 7th century AD, they reflect the rich Ege-Roman culture. Located on the slopes of the city, these houses offer insights into the social life and daily routines of ancient Ephesus. The interiors are richly decorated with frescoes and mosaics, showcasing intricate artwork. These homes are typically two or three stories high and constructed using high-quality materials. The architectural style is luxurious and comfortable, reflecting the high living standards of the time. The terrace houses were residential areas for the city's aristocratic class and offered a grand living space that mirrored their social status. Today, the Terrace Houses in Ephesus attract significant interest through archaeological excavations and restorations, offering visitors an in-depth view of life during the ancient Roman period.
At the end of the tour drive you back to Kusadasi Port. We Guarantee your timely return to the port

Best Way to See Ephesus!
Onder was wonderful! We were a small group of four, which made it very intimate. Onder did a wonderful job telling us the history of Ephesus and the historical and social context of each site. More importantly, he took him time, was very considerate to ensure we had a good experience. He gave us plenty of time to take our photographs, and masterfully guided us away from large groups so we wouldn’t feel overwhelmed. He made our visit to Ephesus a wonderful and memorable experience!
Don't miss this tour.
My son said out of 8 excursions on our 2 week cruise, this was one of his favorites. Excellent guide.
Fabulous guide in Ephesus!!
We had a wonderful experience at the Ephesus Ruins and Terrace Houses with our small group tour guide, Filiz! She was knowledgeable, engaging, kind, and so enjoyable to learn about the culture from! I recommend Filiz for a fabulous cruise port guide in Ephesus! She even recommended a lovely seafood restaurant following the tour! 5 stars!!
Guide had her own agenda.
It was the strangest tour experience. We were batched with others who booked different experiences. First thing we were left in a parking lot because one couple had booked the house of Mary butter rest of us had not. Our guide tried to talk us out of going to the terrace houses, which ended up being the highlight. Then she INSISTED that we eat at a specific restaurant. We all said no but she was persistent enough that 6/8 gave in and paid the 20 euros. My husband and I were told a car would come for us, but that was a lie. We had to wait in the garden while they ate and rode back with them. It was ridiculous! Our guide had mediocre knowledge and a mission of her own. I do not recommend!
Pleasantly surprised
Our guide was knowledgeable, accommodating, and pleasant. Our party of four were in awe of the ruins. The experience was well worth the many steps.
