England in One Day: Stonehenge, Bath, Cotswolds & Stratford-upon-Avon Day Trip from London

Best tour of our trip. A long day that was fun the entire time.

DO NOT RENT Second Wind, a horrible oceanside Avon, N.C., house offered by Surf or Sound Realty. We were in it for a week. It's worn-out, unsafe, smelly and cluttered. We've been visiting OBX for decades. This was our worst house rental ever. Two service calls produced a couple of minor fixes, but this place was beyond repair. - Lower-floor hall lights wired through one switch, overburdening circuit and causing electrical burn odor in stairwell, possible fire hazard. - Elevator doesn't work. Repairman came and said he fixed it. We took one ride down from third floor to ground level and it never worked again for the week. - Over-toilet cabinet in top floor hall bathroom not fastened to wall, could topple over. - Broken-down outdoor fish pond full of water, unfenced and breeding mosquitos. - House infested with stink bugs. - Living room AC return grate and vents covered in moldy grime. - Interior staircase carpet damp, sticky and smelly. - Exposed pine walls on top floor show extensive water damage. - Nail heads protrude from floor planks on top deck. - Aging dishwasher does poor job of cleaning, leaves residue. - Kitchen has no pantry, needs thorough overhaul. - Trash and junk scattered on ground all around and beneath home. - Top-floor bedroom has no smoke alarm, no closet, no bathroom. - Top-floor bathroom door delaminating, towel rack that could poke child in face. - All top-floor bedroom and bathroom window blinds worn out. - Unpatched holes, peeling paint and ceiling cracks degrade overall appearance. - Ugly clutter of personal paintings, baskets, carvings, thrift-store furniture. - Plastic film on four clerestory windows in top-floor peeling away. Surf or Sound rents some top-quality homes, but Second Wind Avon was a huge disappointment. To be fair, it has good views from the deck. There is plenty of parking. The deck furniture is decent. The mattresses were adequate. The composite flooring looked new-ish. But the problems were so numerous that we were shocked. If the house owners won't invest enough to make it safe, sanitary and attractive, Surf or Sound should cut them loose. A place like this only damages Surf or Sound's reputation, already not great since a Covid refunds scandal. We will not be renting again from Surf or Sound.

It was a very well organised tour. Our guide Tom is very knowledgeable and helpful also has a wonderful sense of humour. He looks after the group very well and I really appreciate the ease of it, our coach driver Mo was very kind and is a fantastic driver, I wish them well.

Nicholas our tour guide was very knowledgeable, upbeat and friendly. Our coach drive Miquel was wonderful too. They both made us laugh all day and made the tour very enjoyable. We learned so much from this tour.
