I'd give this one a miss.
The route was good, the cheese was good, the information was good, the guide spoke well and was interesting. Standing outdoors to watch her slice and organize the cheeses while she stood and balanced her cutting board in one hand was odd and unexpected. She wiped the knife with her bare fingers when she began. She also didn't seem to put any effort into her personal appearance.
Fun cheese tour
A really fun thing to do in Edinburgh - especially as a little break from all the fringe activities. Nice small group, very helpful and interesting guide and most importantly - some gorgeous cheeses to sample.

Jenny was a terrific guide. She was knowledgeable, upbeat and fun.
Edinburgh Cheeses
We enjoyed our tour with Jenny! The cheeses were unusual and delicious and she gave a good explanation of each. We did the 12pm tour and left feeling like we needed a light snack afterwards to complete our busy day, and she gave us helpful advice about where to go in the busy, but not very touristy neighborhood. It was a real treat!
Good Cheese, But Expected Tour to be in Edinburgh
We expect our Cheese tour to be in Edinburgh city center base in the description. We like food tours as they typically include history of the city we visit. In this instance we were in a nice suburb of the city. Our guide, Jenny, did a nice job introducing the cheeses we tasted. The tour itself was a bit awkward but not fault of Jenny. The group would wait on a city corner while she ran to the shops to pick up the cheese to try and we would taste it standing on the corner as others walked by. In the end we stood in a park while Jenny had to sit on the curb and cut up five different cheeses for the group to taste. Jenny did her best but I think the tour operator need to do a lot to improve this tour to make it comfortable for their guests.
