Full description
Start your Rome day early, while the city is quieter and cooler. This early morning Rome tour meets at the Spanish steps and reaches the Trevi Fountain before the daytime crowds arrive. Then stop for breakfast and indulge in coffee and a cornetto, Italy's softer, slightly sweeter take on the croissant, before walking into the Pantheon on a timed ticket that's pre-arranged. A local guide leads this small-group tour of the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon, up to 12 guests, finishing in Piazza Navona to continue your day.
Meet your guide at the Spanish Steps in Piazza Spagna, while Rome is still quieter and cooler, and join your local expert guide and a small group of up to 12 guests. After introductions, it's a short walk to the Trevi Fountain, where you arrive before the daytime crowds do. Look for the two sea horses pulling the sea god's shell-shaped chariot, one calm and one restless, said to stand for the sea's two moods.
Then, it´s onto a quieter square with eleven columns from a Roman temple built into the front of a later building. They're nearly 1,900 years old, and Rome built around them instead of clearing them away.
Next comes breakfast, at a local café a few steps from the Pantheon, to enjoy a coffee and a cornetto - Italy's softer, slightly sweeter take on the croissant.
You are now in the perfect location to walk into the Pantheon on a timed ticket that's already been arranged for you. Here your guide explains what the building was made for and how a dome this wide was built and stays standing.
Then look up: the Pantheon has no windows, only the oculus, a round opening at the top of the dome that sends a moving circle of daylight across the walls and floor.
The tour ends in Piazza Navona, a square that follows the outline of an ancient stadium, which is why it's long, narrow, and curved at one end. An early morning of sightseeing done, and the rest of your day is yours!

Reviews
If you’re gonna see Niagara Falls, this is the tour to do it on!
