Great experience with Eduardo!

Amazing day trip with Eduardo. We chose the small group tour, which was a total of 8 people. It made for a much more pleasant and personalized experience than the larger tour buses. We also selected the "pick up at your hotel" option, which is pricier but we loved being able to be picked up and dopped off at our place of accommodation. The first winery was port focused and we enjoyed it very much, though we weren't sure we'd love it given that we aren't port drinkers. Next we headed to lunch, which was absolutely delicious, and included traditional Portuguese dishes as well as dessert. There was also plentiful wine (red and wine) if you wanted to partake, and coffee to end with. Next, we had a leisurely boat ride down the Douro, where we passed many of the regions wineries. We ended with the second winery, and were back in our apartment by around 5 or 5:30pm, which allowed for a little rest and then opportunity to have a meal after. I also want to especially call out Eduardo, who was an amazing guide - funny and informative, and patient with questions. His approach and attitude to the day very much enhanced our experience. All in all, I would recommend this tour!

Delightful Day in the Douro

We had a FANTASTIC day in the Douro Valley on the small group tour, with Pedro as our guide. The pick up location was very convenient, the van was comfortable, and Pedro was very knowledgeable throughout. During the drive out he offered lots of information about the area, and gave helpful tips throughout the day. The wineries we enjoyed were excellent with friendly staff. Theresa (our host on the boat portion) was so lovely as well. The food at lunch was so so tasty, and we felt very welcomed in the restaurant as well. We highly recommend this tour, and know that if Pedro is your guide you are going to be in for a fantastic and engaging day.

Douro Valley's temperature is very high in the summer and cold in the winter. Thus, light clothes in summer and warm clothes in the winter are recommended; Weather Note: All of our activities happen in covered and protected spaces - we guarantee a safe and comfortable tour despite any weather conditions. Not recommended for children - if you are bringing children, please inform us in advance, as car seating is mandatory by Portuguese law. You can also be picked up from a private address other than hotels in Porto downtown area/city center only (Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos cities are outside pick-up limits). If your address is outside pick-up limits or in an area of difficult access (examples: pedestrian street/narrow street/place with very elevated traffic volume) we will set a meeting point a few minutes away so that you can board our van.
