Traveler reviews
Noronha, pros and cons, and shark.
Yes, there's a shark on the beach in Noronha (I hit the bichano in Sancho in the morning). The sea is sensational, but I do not recommend going in the swell months - I caught busy sea in December, with low visibility for sonrkelling. Several buildings altered iconic views of Noronha. The bus works very well, very well, I recommend using it. Prices follow the reality of the continent (1 Coca-Cola 2l R$ 21,00), so take all the food and drink you can to the island. Access to the beaches is controlled, which diminishes your freedom of entry, but there are life savers. What you have in Noronha that you don't have anywhere else in the country (except Abrolhos) is the transparency of the water and the abundance of marine life. If you like snorkeling and diving, it's worth it. If you do not like it, it is not worth it: you will find more interesting fortifications, more accessible beaches and much more beautiful trails on the continent.
