Pass by: A 10km long, palm-fringed promenade and dual carriageway extends in a horseshoe shape around Doha Bay and the city's sea-front. It is lined with hotels, government buildings; lovely open, manicured parks with family facilities and public buildings such as museums and a library. People love to stroll along the corniche, taking in the twinkling sights of the city and the Arabian Gulf.
A stroll down the bustling alleys of Souq Waqif provides an authentic taste of traditional commerce, architecture and culture. The maze of small shops offer a dazzling array of Middle Eastern merchandise from spices and seasonal delicacies to perfumes, jewellery, clothing, handicrafts and a treasure trove of souvenir bargains. Traditional music, art and cultural shows add to the ambience of this special place. Relax and soak up the vitality and atmosphere at one of its eclectic mix of great restaurants and cafes.

Doha’s Best: An Essential Tour with Ahmad!
Seriously, if you're in Doha, do the city tour. It’s the perfect snapshot of old-meets-new. We had an incredibly knowledgeable and nice tour guide, Ahmad Aurangzeb. He made the history feel fun, not like a boring lecture. The Hits: - National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ): Forget your idea of a stuffy museum. This building, designed to look like a desert rose, is an architectural masterpiece and totally Instagram-worthy. Inside, the exhibits are less about artifacts and more about immersive, cinematic storytelling of Qatar's history. It’s genuinely engaging. - Souq Waqif: This market is the soul of old Doha. The air smells like spices and shisha. Wandering the labyrinthine alleys, seeing the traditional architecture, and catching a glimpse of the falcon shops (yes, they have a falcon souq!) was a huge highlight. It's bustling, authentic, and a total sensory overload in the best way. Bottom line: Go for the architecture, stay for the culture. It's a fantastic, well-organized trip that will give you a real appreciation for Doha. And don't forget to wear comfy shoes and dress modestly.
