Dingle Peninsula Guided Walking Tour

From$180
3 hours
Dingle, Ireland

Full description

Our Wild Atlantic Way walk in the heart of the West Kerry Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) will bring you along the cliffs of Dunquin, overlooking the Blasket Island archipelago. The Dingle Peninsula is steeped in rich heritage and culture. Kevin, your guide, will impart some of this while walking through its landscape. Kevin will enrich the walk with stories of the ancient past, the recent past right up to today, and plenty of Irish folklore, myth, legend, history, and geology—a very enriching experience all around in some beautiful landscape. The rhythm and pace of walking lend themselves to good conversation, and when you throw the inspirational scenery of the Dingle Peninsula into that mix, it all adds up to a great place and space to spend time with friends and family or just go solo. The distance covered will be approximately 3 miles (5km) on mostly flat terrain, which is very doable.

Walk the land with Kevin. A must!

Walking the land with Kevin is must do in Dingle! Last week we did lovely hike along the Pilgrims Path on Mount Brandon. On the way up we were in the mist and wind which added to the allure of the path. Clouds parted on and off on our way down ,opening up incredible views of the valley and bay. Kevin added a delightful mix of history, lore, and mythology;as well as childhood/family memories to make the whole hike extraordinary.l And one of the highlights of our Ireland holiday.

Walking tour of Dingle (town)

There were only three of us -- January is not a real busy tourist season. Got to have an extra-long tour (almost two hours) because it was so small. Kevin was very knowledgeable -- excellent stories. Had a wonderful time. Furthermore, I messed up on the payment but Claire graciously got everything fixed without any fuss.

Incredible tour!!

Kevin O'Shea is a fantastic tour guide and incredibly knowledgeable about Dingle history, geography, and folklore. I highly recommend them and would absolutely tour with them again. Their prices are reasonable and well worth it. I did a solo trip and felt completely comfortable.

This stunning walk exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

Our hope for our trip to Ireland was to immerse ourselves in the landscape and quietude of the Wild Atlantic Way -- and this tour with Kevin fit the bill and then some. The gentle pace allowed time for silent reflection along the amazing coastline, as well as time for Kevin to share extensively about the Irish language, history, and geography. His sense of humor and above-and-beyond kindness made us feel right at home. A *million* thanks to him and Claire for helping make this walk happen for us!

My Favorite Activity We Did During Our Trip to Ireland

My daughter and I had a private guided walking tour - just the guide and the two of us. WHAT A GREAT HIKE! The tour guide was so knowledgeable about the area and the history of the region - as well as fun facts such as movie scenes that were filmed in the area.
