Full description
Rome’s streets are full of food—but not all of it’s worth stopping for. This evening experience cuts through the noise, leading you into the kitchens, bakeries, and wine bars that locals still swear by.
You’ll walk through the Jewish Quarter, Centro Storico, and Trastevere neighborhoods, tasting your way through the dishes that define real Roman food culture. Fried artichokes. Trapizzino. Baccalà. Craft beers. Kosher pastries. You’ll meet the families and food artisans who keep these traditions alive—and finish the night with a spritz you make yourself, sipped atop a private rooftop overlooking St. Peter’s Basilica.
This isn’t just another “eat your way through Rome” tour. This is the one that locals would take—if they could.

The Jewish Quarter That Gave Rome Its Best Bites
You’ll start in Rome’s Jewish Quarter, where centuries of tradition still shape the city’s most iconic dishes. Kick things off with carciofi alla giudia—crispy fried artichokes served street-food style from a local favorite. Then head to a 200-year-old kosher bakery, where pizza ebraica, a sweet-and-savory pastry packed with candied fruit and nuts, still sells out by mid-morning (but don’t worry—we’ve saved you one).
Where Locals Still Line Up
Step into the Centro Storico for a bite of baccalà fritto—lightly battered fried cod from a spot that’s perfected it over generations. Wash it down with a local wine, then head around the corner to one of Rome’s top craft beer bars. Here, you’ll sample two Roman brews, poured by people who know their hops—and paired with Lazio’s best cheeses and salumi. Street Food, Roman Style Next, cross the river into Trastevere, where cobblestones glow in the golden light and street food reigns supreme. You’ll stop for a trapizzino—the lovechild of pizza and panino—and bite into layers of Roman comfort food packed into a warm, crunchy triangle of dough. A Sunset Spritz Above the City Just when you think the night can’t get better, your guide will lead you up to a private rooftop terrace—a space most Romans would never find on their own. With views of St. Peter’s Basilica in the distance, you’ll craft your own perfect spritz and raise a glass to a night you’ll never forget.
Please note: Every tour features a variety of unique, family-run stops, carefully curated to showcase the best of Rome's food and drink culture. While exact stops and tastes may vary, you’re always guaranteed a delicious, immersive, and truly local Devour experience.
