Interesting. Historical. Beautiful

From start to finish, this was an incredibly interesting, Historical and fun trip. Captain Andy was so great, helpful and very knowledgeable about the waters around Hilton Head and the tour of Daufuskie. My husband and I learned so much. It's a really interesting place to see in an incredible part of not only the history of South Carolina, but of our country's history.

Great time with Captain Pippy

We had an amazing time with Captain Pippy. She provided an in depth overview of local wildlife as well as history of Daufuskie Island and Gullah history and culture!

Daufuskie Island History Tour ...

We went on this tour with Andy as our Captain and historical guide. The tour was multi faceted with the boat ride, history " lessons" and on site experiences. We were so glad that we had heeded the " what to bring items "that were outlined in the organisers literature. It unexpectedly poured on the way over but we had the right attire. Andy kept us distracted with his humor, facts and stories. He is so well versed that I actually looked to see IF he was reading from notes ( he was not ), Once on the island the tour was as outlined on the information brochure. But being in the actual settings was enlightening with mixed emotions on the historical settings, In particular the cabin outside the African Church and the Indigo craft demonstration. We look forward to returning on another tour to see other parts of the island,

Okay, but not too impressed

The boat ride did not have a coverered area for shade. The restrooms were inoperable. Toilets don't flush, no running water.

Would have liked to see more of the island

The boat ride was great as was our tour guide. I would have enjoyed seeing some developed parts of the island - perhaps the downtown area.
