Itinerary
Cuc Phuong National Park (Vietnamese: Vườn quốc gia Cúc Phương) is in Northern Vietnam, 40 km away from Ninh Binh city. It is Vietnam’s largest national park and one of the most important biodiversity sites in the country. It is home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna. The park can be visited from Hanoi as a day trip or visitors can stay at the park’s lodgings for a longer stay. Visiting the park is a terrific opportunity to get a close look at Vietnam’s nature. Fees generated from tourism help protect the parks wildlife and improve the local economy. The best time of the year to visit the park is during the dry season, from Nov-Feb.
The Endangered Primate Rescue Center is a not for profit project dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, breeding, research and conservation of Vietnams endangered and critically endangered primate species. First established in 1993, through a collaboration between Frankfurt Zoological Society and Cuc Phuong National Park, the center is presently managed under the umbrella of the Vietnam Primate Conservation Program, jointly operated by Zoo Leipzig and Cuc Phuong National Park. More than 180 animals have been born at the center, some being the first of their species to be born in captivity, including the critically endangered Cat Ba langur, Delacours langur and the Grey shanked douc langur. Today the center is home to around 180 primates representing 15 species. The primates are housed in more than 50 large enclosures including two fenced semi wild areas of primary forest, measuring 2 and 5 hectares in size. These enclosures serve to prepare animals for release into the wild and provide opportunities to study the behavior of animals in semi wild condition

Traveler reviews
Po was friendly and...
Po was friendly and helpful. The tour was difficult for my mother, who found too many steps very strenuous. Po took photos for us, helped us where we struggled. The lunch was excellent- lots of food, all very tasty, and included in the tour price. I enjoyed seeing the cave, and the monkey rehabilitation centre was good too. I would recommend the tour, but if you struggle to walk with stairs this is going to be very difficult for you.
Great day at Cuc Phuong
I had a memorable day in the jungle at Cuc Phuong National Park near Ninh Binh. My consultant Harley contacted me right after I booked, stayed in touch leading up to the trip and followed up right after. My guide Hung was friendly and took me to lots of beautiful spots while keeping me safe the whole time, and my driver Quỳnh gets a shout out for getting us there and back efficiently despite the busy traffic. A trip to the nearby center for endangered primates was a nice add-on at the end. Strongly recommended!
Short but great
The next time we would book a 2 day tour since 1 day is quite short for Cuc Phuong, but after all it was a good tour. Thomas is a great guide and conversation partner who can tell you something about everything.
Day Trip Nationalpark
It was a super nice tour with really great nature. Our guide FiFi was very dedicated & was very accommodating. The best guide we could have! She gave us many recommendations. With FiFi always happy again!
Amazing adventure through Cuc Phuong with the best guide
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that adores nature! Cuc Phuong is by far the best national park I have visited in Vietnam to date. My tour included a fantastic trek through the jungle to see some beautiful thousand year old trees, exploration of the prehistoric man cave network and a huge lunch comprised of authentic (and of course tasty) Vietnamese food! I also got to drive a scooter throughout the national park (for a small additional fee). What's more my guide for the day (Fifi) was exceptional! Fifi was knowlegble, incredibly friendly and endeavoured to make my day as enjoyable as possible. While Fifi helped me customise my experience to be more on the adventurous side - there were other options for those seeking a more relaxed afternoon (including a trip to the animal sanctuary). If you book this trip (which I recommend you do) - definitely ask for Fifi as your guide! The return journey from my hotel to Cuc Phuong was also very comfortable and I got to see much of the Vietnamese country side. I very much appreciated riding in a modern luxury sedan after an adventurous day exploring Cuc Phuong! In summary - I had an amazing day and cannot recommend this tour enough. In fact, it is the best tour I have done in Vietnam to date!
