We stumbled upon Tokyo Private Custom Tour completely by chance while exploring the Senso-ji area, and it turned out to be one of the best spontaneous decisions of our trip. The guides welcomed us warmly and we ended up joining them for a tour of the neighbourhood that far exceeded our expectations. They walked us through the iconic Senso-ji temple with detailed and engaging explanations that gave us a real appreciation for its history and significance — far more than we would have gotten exploring on our own. We also discovered the lively shopping streets nearby, which were great fun to wander through. The real highlight was a hidden gem the guides led us to: a tucked-away street that used to be an underground train station from the post-war era. A fascinating piece of Tokyo’s lesser-known history that we would never have found by ourselves. The whole experience felt personal and unhurried. The guides were friendly, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about sharing their knowledge. If you’re in the Senso-ji area and get the chance to join one of their tours — planned or unplanned — don’t hesitate. Highly recommended!
We were approached by two very nice tourguides in Asakusa, Subaru san and Tomoki san. They showed us around telling stories and shared their local knowledge. When the rain started, they helped us find good umbrellas. They were very helpful and funny. Thank you very much for the tour, we would definetly join them again!
We prepared a list of places that we wanted to visit and go to, then Mr. Tagai arranged them for the day tour, he added several more locations so that we could see more of Japan's landmark and beautiful places. We could also ask for the tour to be altered, some places could be added and removed on the spot. Touring with Mr. Tagai feels relaxed and chill, every disired destination was met happily. The price itself is reasonably affordable for a day tour. We could pick however many people that would go on the tour and the price won't change whether it is for a solo tour or family tour. I reccomend this service for those first-timers in Japan, or someone that would need a partner to help travelling a new place in japan.
