About
Color Factory is an experiential art attraction company operating immersive, color-themed installations. Founded in 2017 by Jordan Ferney (and collaborators) as a pop-up in San Francisco ([ccmagazine.es](https://ccmagazine.es/en/color-factory-an-experience-inspired-by-the-joy-of-color/#:~:text=The%20first%20Color%20Factory%20was,Houston)), it now maintains permanent venues in New York City, Houston, and Chicago ([www.nasdaq.com](https://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/color-factory-chicago-immerses-guests-in-a-spectrum-of-color-2022-06-17#:~:text=The%20highly,across%20over%2025%2C000%20square%20feet)). Each location features a dozen or more interactive rooms (e.g. ball pits, confetti rooms, and multi-sensory experiments) designed to engage the senses and highlight the “joy of color” ([www.tmrk.com](https://www.tmrk.com/companies/color-factory#:~:text=Color%20Factory%20is%20an%20experiential,boundaries%20of%20perception%20and%20understanding)) ([www.nasdaq.com](https://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/color-factory-chicago-immerses-guests-in-a-spectrum-of-color-2022-06-17#:~:text=The%20highly,across%20over%2025%2C000%20square%20feet)). The brand’s mission is to spark delight and connection across audiences of all ages ([www.colorfactory.co](https://www.colorfactory.co/about#:~:text=We%E2%80%99ve%20created%20an%20immersive%20experience,joy%20within%20Color%20Factory%E2%80%99s%20walls)) ([www.colorfactory.co](https://www.colorfactory.co/press#:~:text=Color%20Factory%20is%20an%20interactive,old%20or%20young%20visitors%20are)), working with local artists and charities in each city to ensure relevance to the community. Color Factory sells tickets directly to consumers (via its online site and Peek.com) and also offers merchandise and private events (birthday parties, corporate events, etc.). Its clientele is broad and social-media-driven – families, tourists, teens and art enthusiasts are all drawn by its highly “Instagrammable” appeal and playful design ([www.colorfactory.co](https://www.colorfactory.co/press#:~:text=Color%20Factory%20is%20an%20interactive,old%20or%20young%20visitors%20are)) ([www.colorfactory.co](https://www.colorfactory.co/about#:~:text=We%E2%80%99ve%20created%20an%20immersive%20experience,joy%20within%20Color%20Factory%E2%80%99s%20walls)).
On the business side, Color Factory has attracted outside investment (including a $10.0M Series A round in 2021 ([www.linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com/company/colorfactoryco#:~:text=Last%20Round))) and publicity (it was voted USA Today’s #1 Immersive Art Experience in 2024–2025 ([www.nasdaq.com](https://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/color-factory-chicago-immerses-guests-in-a-spectrum-of-color-2022-06-17#:~:text=Color%20Factory%20Chicago%20will%20be,12%29.%20To%20purchase%20visit%3A%20https%3A%2F%2Fcolorfactory.co%2Fchicago))). The company targets the U.S. experiential market – New York, Texas, and Illinois – with ambitious expansion plans (the CEO has cited interest in new U.S. and international cities ([www.costar.com](https://www.costar.com/article/192718407/color-factorys-chicago-opening-brightly-illustrates-the-rise-of-hands-on-retail#:~:text=As%20the%20Chicago%20space%20opens%2C,to%20scout%20cities%20for%20expansion))). It competes as an “Instagram museum” in the entertainment space ([alcalde.texasexes.org](https://alcalde.texasexes.org/2023/10/color-factory-ceo-builds-vibrant-art-installations#:~:text=That%20was%202017,just%20a%20set%2C%E2%80%9D%20Ferney%20said)) but distinguishes itself through permanent installations (unlike many short-term pop-ups) and deep local storytelling. Visitors encounter over a dozen curated rooms per site, all built around chromatic themes and interactive play. From a supplier perspective, Color Factory functions essentially as a direct operator/retailer of experiences (so it doesn’t list external tours) – but its scale, brand recognition and modern platform make it a high-profile venue in the market.
