This, after a day of amazing hikes through the blue mountains, was the cherry on top. Our entertaining, charismatic guide and bus driver Angus gave us a tour of the town and the parts of the mountains we had missed, making for an awesome end to our day. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love Angus the driver. He was so funny!!! Loved every ride with him and thank you for singing 2 songs for us (although please dont believe him when he says the guy's name in the song is Andy 🤣) all the drivers were so friendly and knowledgeable! Ask them for tips :) This HOHO bus is the best and totally worth it if you dont have a car. Far more reliable than public buses and the guide book is so informative!! Used the guidebook to plan most of my bush walks. The buses came roughly on time (plus minus a few mins) and the route was clear and totally not confusing. It drops you at all the major attractions. The huge bus is easy to spot as well and really comfortable with heated seats (such a great comfort in winter) Bought mine as a combo with scenic world which is cheaper than if you buy tix separately.

We used the Katoomba Explorer bus for a day and half and enjoyed it greatly. Amy, who works at the desk, was super helpful, clarifying what sections of the mountain were open. The drivers are great. Unlike many “hop on hop off” tours, the drivers do the commentary instead of a recording. It allowed them to personalize suggestions to the tour and time of day. Our last trip was topped off with our fabulous driver, Angus, performing “Waltzing Matilda”!

Had a wonderful experience with the explorer bus. The drivers were very friendly and knowledgeable, the bus was on time and it was super easy to use. As we travelled in winter the buses were very quiet and a few times we had the bus to ourselves. Overall a great experience which we would recommend.

Excellent service bus drivers very friendly shout out to Kylie & Bill they made the trip interesting lots of information about the area etc good value for money really enjoyed the trip highly recommend you can just hope on and off to any of the sights on the loop bus comes back for pick ups.🙂

Wow! Nature at it grandest and so much to more. However, my favorite of all were the drivers of the Blue Mountain Explorer (BME) Buses. They are not just really good drivers, they are EXCELLENT presenters of all of the information of the Blue Mountains and its lovely community. If you're looking for a place to got outside of Sydney city, you must consider the Blue Mountains and take advantage of the information you'll garner from the BME drivers.

While the Hop-on-Hop-off red bus tour of Katoomba was special, as many others have expressed in their reviews, two people especially made our two days of rides memorable - Aimee (at the Katoomba station office) and Bill (a bus driver and narrator). Aimed was a delight and so helpful, plus she saved my day by giving me some saline eye wash following a bug lodging in my eye. Bill's commentary was superb. Great place, great scenes, better people. You have to experience it and them!

My experience on the Blue Mountains Explorer Double Decker Bus was Amazing with Panoramic views of the valley, The Three Sisters and Mount Solitary. There was also Live commentary which was very informative throughout the whole journey explaining the different lookouts etc. I recommend this bus tour for anyone who’s coming from all over the world as it is the best way to see the famous and historical Blue Mountains.

Buses would not slow down at designated stops to look out for passengers. When running at only 30 minute frequency, missing a bus means a lot of valuable time wasted. Such a shame.

We had a great experience with the hop on-off bus services at the Blue mountains. Pros: -23 stops in total across all hiking spots and cafe shops -The bus leaves every 30-60 mins depending on normal days or school holidays -We loved the heated interiors as a respite from the rainy weather outside - Special shoutout to the drivers esp Bill for the great live commentary - We opted for the day pass and it came with a booklet which has amazing information about all the 23 spots and special bushing walking spots from these locations. Cons: None

Our experience was great from start to end. We ordered tickets online and this was easy. We checked in at the office to collect our Lyrebird tickets and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a wet and foggy day and they gave us great suggestions for our day. The drivers were informative and friendly and we loved Scenic World. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Katoomba. 😊😊

My partner Tim and I spent two days exploring Katoomba and the picturesque surrounds. Best decision we made was to purchase the Explorer Bus Pass. The service provided was exemplary, and we found the commentary informative, and at the same time, witty. Tim and I found the Hop on, Hop off service very convenient because we could enjoy each of the sights at our own pace. We appreciated the suggestions given to us by the drivers, which made our time in Katoomba thoroughly enjoyable. I feel terrible for not remembering all the driver names from Saturday 4 July 2027, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to each of you for taking care of your passengers. Angus, David, and Tim, thank you as well. We purposely did not visit Scenic World during our two day stay, but that is only for the sole purpose of returning and using your friendly and reliable service to take in the stunning Blue Mountains. PS: next time we return it will be during the week, and not during school holidays 😀.
