We had a great experience with the hop on-off bus services at the Blue mountains. Pros: -23 stops in total across all hiking spots and cafe shops -The bus leaves every 30-60 mins depending on normal days or school holidays -We loved the heated interiors as a respite from the rainy weather outside - Special shoutout to the drivers esp Bill for the great live commentary - We opted for the day pass and it came with a booklet which has amazing information about all the 23 spots and special bushing walking spots from these locations. Cons: None

Our experience was great from start to end. We ordered tickets online and this was easy. We checked in at the office to collect our Lyrebird tickets and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a wet and foggy day and they gave us great suggestions for our day. The drivers were informative and friendly and we loved Scenic World. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Katoomba. 😊😊

My partner Tim and I spent two days exploring Katoomba and the picturesque surrounds. Best decision we made was to purchase the Explorer Bus Pass. The service provided was exemplary, and we found the commentary informative, and at the same time, witty. Tim and I found the Hop on, Hop off service very convenient because we could enjoy each of the sights at our own pace. We appreciated the suggestions given to us by the drivers, which made our time in Katoomba thoroughly enjoyable. I feel terrible for not remembering all the driver names from Saturday 4 July 2027, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to each of you for taking care of your passengers. Angus, David, and Tim, thank you as well. We purposely did not visit Scenic World during our two day stay, but that is only for the sole purpose of returning and using your friendly and reliable service to take in the stunning Blue Mountains. PS: next time we return it will be during the week, and not during school holidays 😀.

Such a great way to get around and see all the sights without worrying about driving or parking! The drivers were friendly and the bus ran right on time, which made planning our day so much easier. Most people use it as a classic hop-on hop-off to hit the main lookouts, but we got a bit more adventurous with ours — taking it one way then hiking to a different stop before hopping back on to continue exploring. Worked out perfectly and gave us way more flexibility than I expected. Would definitely recommend, whether you're doing the laid-back loop or mixing in some hiking like we did.

We had such a disappointing experience with the Blue Mountains Explorer bus. We were waiting at a stop for nearly 2 hours, with not a single bus in sight. We eventually had to give up and get the public bus back to the town, which meant we missed out on seeing the majority of things we wanted to see (not to mention the 2 hours we’d spent sitting around waiting). When we got back to Katoomba we went into the shop and spoke to the worker who apologised and said a bus had come - even though it absolutely did not go past our stop. When we asked for a refund she told us we’d need to email about it (but implied we would be due one). We have since emailed multiple times requesting our refund and been told that a bus did go so it seems we won’t be getting one. It should be mentioned that this happened over a race weekend, and the road was apparently closed - hence the difficulty getting to our stop. Why they would even sell tickets when there was going to be road closures is beyond me. And to say “we didn’t know they’d close the roads” seems unlikely, or just completely ignorant on their part. Really disappointing, and a complete waste of money. I would very much appreciate a refund, as currently we paid $55 each and got 1 bus journey out of it. And then paid more for the public bus….. Do yourself a favour and hire a car instead of using this dreadful service.
