Amazing sites...guided tour the only way to go for Rome 1st timers!

For our family of 3 and and two of us First Time in Rome, this guided tour was great. The meeting point could be explained a little better.. there are so many companies with guides it's challenging to know if you with the right one. A little better communication the day before would be nice. Otherwise, the tour guide we had was funny and knowledgeable... knows the History of Rome very well. The day we toured the heat was almost unbearable... so bring a WATER BOTTLE... we didn't and ended up purchasing from street vendors.. thank goodness they we there. The forum part of the tour was great... be prepared to walk and walk up and down hills and stairs. Because of recent changes in Rome, our guide was not allowed inside the Colosseum so once we got to the Colosseum, we were on our own... which was fine because it was so crowded. We could then move at our own pace. All in all, I would recommend the tour especially for Rome 1st timers. ROME is an amazing city!

Disappointed tour guide was cancelled for Colosseum part of the tour.

Great experience however we were advised just a few days out that unfortunately the guided tour for the Colosseum was unable to go ahead due to unforeseen restrictions being put in place. We saw plenty of other tour guides inside the Colosseum so not sure why our guide wasn't allowed access. The guide was very informative for the other part of the tour.

Not the best experience

The meeting spot was a complete mess. Two people handling multiple tours - each of which departed every 15 minutes. One of the individuals taking names literally had to scroll through a really long list of names on his phone to confirm your attendance. The other individual wasn't much better. It all resulted in a really long line that caused some people to miss their designated time slot and lots of confusion about what was really going on. Poorly organized. Fortunately for us, we made it to our tour group at our designated time and the tour guide was good. The exception being at the end of the tour when - other than for pointing out how to get inside the Colosseum - he pretty much left us to our own devices to finish the tour. We'd been to the Colosseum before and arranged this tour so our grandsons could see it. I had hoped for a better experience.

Mind blowing Colosseum tour: a must guided tour in Rome.

Good experience overall. Early slots had less crowds but increased substantially after 10 am. Our guide was decent, but unfortunately guides are not allowed inside colosseum nowadays. It is better if one uses othe free audio guides to learn about the whole tour. Plan for 3 hours and lots of walking, and climbing steps

Not ideal.

We were told very close to our tour that our guide was not allowed in the Colosseum, too late to book another tour. We were told we will receive a discounted price. The tour was 15 minutes late. We paid for and were confirmed for access to the stadium floor and were given tickets that denied entry to the floor. Our guide was good but we were not given the services we paid for at all.
