Share with us a day of experiences between history and tradition, as we walk through the black capes worn by students for over 5 centuries at the oldest university in Portugal and along the romantic canals of Aveiro, the "Venice of Portugal".Following a visit the emblematic University of Coimbra, a UNESCO Site, we explore the streets of the old Moorish Town, which itnessed the foundation of the Portuguese Nationality, where we will find the Old Cathedral. 

Still immersed in authenticity and tradition, we will savor a typical regional meal in one of the gastronomic capitals of the country. It's time to stroll through the romantic city of Aveiro and taste the famous "ovos moles." Discover the city's history in a moment of relaxation. 

All this and much more, without rushing and accompanied by a certified, experienced and friendly guide who will make this day an unforgettable memory to be shared with your loved ones.

1) Meeting with your guide: 


Your guide will meet you at your accommodation to start your private experience (All inclusive) through the "City of Students" and the "Portuguese Venice".

2) Visit the UNESCO University of Coimbra 


We will discover, as the first stop of the day, the monumental building from the 16th century of the oldest University in Portugal (created in 1290 by King Dinis), one of the oldest in the world, still in operation, as well as the halls in its interior and the Chapel of São Miguel and, of course, its most famous pearl: the Joanina Library, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, a masterpiece of Portuguese baroque dating from 1717.

In the "Páteo das Escolas" of the University of Coimbra, our guide will tell you the legends and stories that link the city to student tradition with more than 500 years of existence, while enjoying the beautiful views over the Mondego River.

3)Discover the Old town of Coimbra 


Still with the nostalgic feeling of the University, we move towards the riverside, to cross the mythical old Moorish city, where we will have the opportunity to discover the mysteries hidden in the historic alleys of the Sé Velha (Old Cathedral) , the stairs of the "Rua Quebra-costas" where the "tricanas" carried fresh water to the city, the Torre de Almedina and, finally, the city's pedestrian shopping street , where you can relax with a moment of free time to enjoy all the traditional commerce and typical local pastries.

4) Taste local cuisine with a 3-course regional lunch

5) Explore the city of Aveiro, the “Venice of Portugal” 


After a regional lunch, completely relaxed, we will walk through the center of the canals of the Ria de Aveiro, in what is called the "Venice of Portugal", through the alleys that will take us to the Fish Market, the Rossio Garden and the beautiful "Art-Noveau" buildings that decorate this city with romanticism.

6) Return to your accommodation:

Anna was the perfect guide and made us comfortable from the introduction. It was raining and we were having difficulty finding the meeting point in Porto but she was able to change at the last minute and find us. She kept the conversation lively and interesting about Portugal, different regions, and the Douro. You will not be disappointed.
