Itinerary
We will begin our tour by visiting the palafitos in Pedro Montt. The palafitos are wooden houses with larch tiles that are placed on a pier with thick piles. These houses have two fronts, one towards the street and the other towards the canal, which has an upper terrace that serves as a patio and a lower one that works for fishing activities.
We will continue our tour through the Millantuy viewpoint, and then we will go to the Castro Regional Museum. Here we can learn about more than 6000 years of the history of Chiloé.
We will also visit the Castro Church, founded in 1567, and continue on our way to the Gamboa Palafitos
Finally, we will head south to get to know the Nercon Church, which is a World Heritage Site, and then we will return to our hotels.

Traveler reviews
The Castro tour with Ana was wonderful! Best tour of our 22 day cruise!e!
We saw and learned so much today on our tour with Ana. At the city market we learned about the different kelp / sea weeds they eat, that there are over 300 different potatoes, that they only have one word for cheese - soft, hard, with holes - it's just cheese.... The two church were beautiful in their own different ways. The houses on stilts and their historty was facinating. And, oh my, the handicraft market had so many wool and wooden items. The sweaters were beautiful and fuctional. The prices were much lower than at home. It was a wonderful tour!
Great tour of Castro
Our guide, Anna, was very knowledgeable. All our questions were answered. She (and our very safe and efficient driver) are both passionate about Castro, Chiloe and Chile. A most enjoyable few hours!
