Full description

Available exclusively on Sundays, this full-day small-group tour offers a unique combination of Provence’s coastal beauty and prehistoric heritage. Travel from Aix-en-Provence to the charming harbor village of Cassis, where colorful waterfront views and Mediterranean atmosphere await.

Enjoy a scenic boat excursion through the spectacular Calanques National Park, famous for turquoise waters and dramatic limestone cliffs.

Instead of the winery visit offered on weekday departures, Sunday tours include entry to the Cosquer Cave in Marseille — an immersive reconstruction of a prehistoric cave discovered beneath the Mediterranean Sea, showcasing remarkable Paleolithic artwork.

This experience blends nature, culture, and history into a distinctive Provence day trip.

Discover Cassis and the Calanques Coast
The fishing village of Cassis is one of Provence’s most picturesque coastal destinations. Surrounded by vineyards and cliffs, its lively harbor provides the perfect starting point to explore the nearby Calanques National Park.

A boat excursion allows visitors to admire the famous limestone inlets, turquoise waters, and dramatic coastal scenery that make the Calanques one of southern France’s natural highlights.

A Unique Sunday Experience: The Cosquer Cave
On Sundays, the traditional winery visit is replaced by entry to the Cosquer Cave in Marseille. This remarkable site recreates a prehistoric cave discovered underwater near the Calanques containing Ice Age paintings dating back more than 20,000 years.

Through an immersive guided circuit, visitors experience detailed reproductions of cave art and learn about early human life along the Mediterranean coast, offering a fascinating cultural complement to the natural landscapes seen earlier in the day.

Limited to eight participants, the tour ensures a relaxed pace with time to explore Cassis village and enjoy each experience fully while traveling in a premium air-conditioned Mercedes minivan with an expert driver-guide.

Alex was the most experienced, knowledgeable, and chilled tour guide of all the 5 tour guides we experienced. We learned a lot from him about the culture, history, and geology of the region. He also provided great context to understand the regions' wines. This tour to Cassis and the calanques was beautiful and would get a 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that this expensive tour did not include lunch. The wine tasting was good but I had better in Bordeaux and it included lunch.

Matt was an awesome tour guide. His passion for D-day made the experience that much better. He was very knowledgeable. Even my children were glued to his every word. Great experience!
