Great English translations by Josué! What an awesome guy!!!
We booked the Walled City & Getsemaní tour in English. An hour or so before our afternoon tour, Beyond Colombia notified us of the cancellation due to low numbers*** We naively decided to do the tour in Spanish instead, thinking that we could just use the live translation feature on the Google Translate app. The guide Uriel had great energy and enthusiasm but he used a speaker to amplify his voice and the app hardly picked up anything he said and therefore couldn't translate properly! He tried really hard to make us feel included which we appreciated. Not long into the tour, we had pretty much decided not to continue. Luckily, Josué arrived and offered to translate everything in English! He spoke English very well too. Not only did Josué translate for us, we could tell that he added more information and he genuinely cared about doing a good job. Even during the breaks, he provided us so much information and insight and was just generally helpful. He answered all our questions thoroughly and gave us some great recommendations. Thanks Josué for coming to the rescue! We've done countless free walking tours all over the world but this one was a definite standout! We started the tour feeling uncertain but we were so glad to have done it in the end. Both Uriel and Josué did a great job! Special thanks to Josué. What a legend!!! 😊 ***TIP: You can message them on WhatsApp to confirm if the free tour you've booked has enough people to run it yet. Otherwise, they might cancel it an hour or so before. It happened to us a few times in Bogotá too 😕
