Departure: Salta (downtown) – 1180 meters above sea level (6:30 – 7:15 am) Route 68 and Route 33 It will depart from the city of Salta, traveling through the central part of the Lerma Valley and then entering the Sub-Andean Sierras. Here you can explore and admire the landscapes of the Quebrada de Escoipe and the Cuesta del Obispo. You will experience contrasts of landscapes and climates: you will pass from the humid and exuberant jungles of the Yungas to the arid, cold and inhospitable Puna.

Cachi from Salta depart in clear weather

Breathtaking landscape worth a visit a guide who knows a maximum and makes you share it would be a plus.. Try to schedule a solar day or at least without rain if not on the heights it is obviously much more chilly and ... we can distinguish nothing on the road in yaws...

Loved it.

I did not make the excursion, but stayed two nights at the Hosteria del ACA, a place with a beautiful environment. I would return to tour the surrounding area and some hike to the Nevado.
