Money pit with beautiful views

Pros: The scenery was beautiful. The ATV track was a great size with a good mix of hills and curves. The staff spoke English very well. Turbans, helmets, and goggles were included, which was a plus. Cons: This place felt like a money pit. After paying the advertised fee, I received an email stating there would be a mandatory $25 park entrance fee. Once I arrived, I was then required to pay an additional $25 for insurance and a basic manual ATV. I was told I had to leave all personal belongings in a locker unless I paid extra… $35 more for a manual ATV option, or $65 if I wanted to bring my phone, take my own pictures, and lead my own tour. All of these charges are per person, not per group. There was also an option to put a $700 hold on your card instead of paying certain fees. On top of that, photos felt pushed on us since we couldn’t take our own.. $20 per picture or $180 for the full album. I understand spending money on vacation, but I prefer full transparency upfront rather than being hit with multiple unexpected fees after already booking. Overall: I ended up spending significantly more than the original advertised price.

Super Fun. Definitely...

Super Fun. Definitely book the private tour so you can take your own cameras. My kids 5 & 7 both loved the combo ATV and Camel Tour. We did end up buying insurance for the UTV, so the additional fees definitely adds up.

Too expensive but still enjoyable.

Overall we had a good time on the ATV and camel combo tour. We opted for the private tour which seemed worth it. Even though you can take your own photos on the private tour, the guide is not allowed to take any photos for you at all. They still want to push you to purchase their photo packages. We also upgraded our ATV’s to bigger models which included the insurance supposedly. With all the fees and upgrades we spent and additional $489 n top of the tour reservation cost online. So almost $900 for 3 people, which to be honest, seems way overpriced for what you get. But overall we enjoyed the activities and went in to it knowing about the extra fees so we weren’t caught off guard.

Take a private tour guide

I had an incredible experience with Cactus Tours Cabo San Lucas, and I’m especially impressed with our tour guide, Chan. When I booked through the hotel concierge, I was informed about the fees and insurance ahead of time, which I appreciated. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted at the front desk and offered the option to upgrade to a private tour. I highly recommend doing this. It allowed us to keep our personal belongings with us and gave us a dedicated guide for the ATV and camel experience. I had never driven a side-by-side before and didn’t quite know what to expect. Chan immediately put me at ease. He is a serious, safety-first guide who constantly checked behind him to ensure we were comfortable, keeping up, and safe at all times. That level of attentiveness made the adventure even more enjoyable. The ATV ride was thrilling, and along the way Chan shared history about Cabo and the Veracruze culture, which added a thoughtful dimension to the experience. The beach itself is absolutely spectacular — bright sand, dramatic waves, and breathtaking scenery. I was genuinely surprised by the beautiful outpost set up there — almost like a refined “camel café” overlooking the ocean. The camel ride was unforgettable. The camels are friendly and clearly well cared for. Chan knew each of them by name and you could tell he genuinely cared about the animals and about making sure we all had a memorable time. Although you’re told you can take your own photos, I would strongly suggest budgeting for the camel photo package. The professional photos they capture are stunning and far beyond what I was able to take myself. Chan also mentioned that they offer horseback riding and zip line adventures, which I will absolutely be returning to try next year — and I will definitely be requesting Chan again. If you’re visiting Cabo and want an organized, safe, exciting, and beautifully run experience, Cactus Tours delivers.
