Wondrous Whale Shark Swim

What an absolutely breathtaking experience! We last minute had David jump in as our tour guide and I cannot recommend him enough! He briefed us during the journey to the docks and provided drinks and croissants for breakfast, very appreciated considering the very early start. We didn't have to wait long for our boat to be ready to board upon arrival to the docks, with bathrooms available. The boats are not massive so be warned anyone who gets motion sick! David had medication on hand prior to arrival in case needed. I didn't and paid the price despite never getting seasick before. Definitely take it or take your own if you have some with you. While waiting, there was also ginger tea and coffee available to help and hire of wetsuits if needed as this removes the need for a life vest when in the water (still needed on the boat). We jumped on our boat, with Sisi as our Captain and Antonio helping out. Both were very welcoming and helpful throughout the trip, making sure we were properly kitted out, helping with lunch etc. They were very appreciated! It took a little while to reach the whale shark spot, where there were quite a few boats but it didn't feel too crowded around a singular shark. The water was actually okay temperature wise, despite being very deep so don't look down. When I say this was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, it is no understatement. These beautiful creatures are so much bigger when you see them in person and under the water and yet they are so graceful. Make sure you really take in the moment while you can, because it's hard to keep up with the giants. David did a fab job of filming on the GoPro (with very reasonable prices!) and was really supportive when I got quite emotional afterwards. There was an opportunity to second swim, which I couldn't since I had started to feel ill. Sandwiches were offered following this when heading back towards land. The reef dive was also beautiful, and it was only a short trip to the lunch stop, which could be enjoyed on deck or in the shallow water off Isla Mujeres. Finishing off the day was thankfully a calm journey back to the dock, the opportunity to change etc before heading back to our hotel. I cannot recommend this enough. Wow is the best way to describe it. Thank you again to David, Antonio and Captain Sisi for such a wonderful experience.

One of the greatest experiences of our lives!!

One the greatest experiences of our lives. There is absolutely nothing to fear with these majestic animals. The crew (especially Alma) was amazing! They were also very organized and professional. You are missing out on the fruits of life if you do not take this trip.

The Captain, Jimmy, and Raul

Everything and everyone were great! Seeing all the different sea life was amazing but the whale sharks were surreal. I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between the captain and his first mate, Jimmy!! Raul’s knowledge was top notch! Thank you!!

From Panic to Pure Gratitude

As someone who believes in doing things even when I'm scared, this experience humbled me. For the first time in a long time, I was genuinely afraid and didn't trust myself. The moment I hit the water, I felt an internal panic. Even with a life vest on, I felt like I couldn't breathe and was convinced I was going to drown—the irony lol. What made all the difference was VANESSA. She was absolutely amazing. Her patience, calm demeanor, and reassuring tone never wavered. She didn't rush me or make me feel embarrassed for being scared. Somehow, even when I couldn't trust myself, trusting her came naturally. Because of her support, I was able to work through the panic and experience something I otherwise would have missed. The admission fee was absolutely worth it when you consider everything that's included. Transportation to and from the marina, the boat ride with experienced captains who clearly know what they're doing, and the amount of time we spent out on the water all made it a great value. Our small group had the opportunity to jump in multiple times, which made the experience feel personal instead of rushed. If you're nervous or stepping outside your comfort zone, know that you're in capable hands. Thank you, Vanessa, for your kindness, professionalism, and for helping me push through one of the scariest moments I've had in a long time. It turned into an experience I'll never forget.
