Traveler reviews
Great guide, great experience
Tarek was a great guide! We spent a couple of hours here, arriving early as you need to (some other tours have pick-ups at 9 am, which is way too late). Tarek answered questions, helped us buy food and drink, and protected us from runaway camels. He was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Great experience, great guide.
Wow wow wow! Thanks to Tonsi
What an experience!! Such a fantastic tour to see the Camels and experience the life of the people that live and work at the market! My guide Tonsi picked me up on time and asked me if I had breakfast, I hadn't so I asked for a traditional Egyptian food to which he was more than happy to do! We had falafel in bread and Egyptian coffee! Once we finished we set off, Tonsi made sure I had water and I was ok all the time. Along the way he showed me farms and explained how the Nile divided into separate rivers and how the Nile is life for the people that live around it. When we arrived, we parked up and wondered around seeing all the different holding pens and Tonsi told me how the buying and selling of the camels work. We were very fortunate enough to watch a female camel give birth, what an experience!! After walking around and meeting some of the locals we walked across the road to were their houses are and their back gardens where they keep the camels. Tonsi was great at helping not getting involved in buying a camel!! Tonsi spoke to the locals and got me them to let us go into their gardens and watch them feed and water the camels! Make sure you where boots or good walking shoes as you may have to jumped out of the way of camels! Overall its a very eye opening but amazing experience that I would highly recommend. Charles, Uk
