Full description

You'll gain a wealth of knowledge from someone who was born and reared and still lives in the community where the tour takes place, 17 years of experience giving the tours. I am 1 of 5 tour guides in the whole of Belfast that can say this. You will experience both sides of the community where the conflict took place, an unbiased tour and lots of colorful murals that depict the struggles along the way, where you can sign the famous peace wall and you'll have plenty of photo opportunities. This tour is a great experience for the whole family and will take you back in time right up to the present day. Tour is 90 minutes of history, learning and plenty of "craic" (laughter) along the way.

Highly recommend

Diarmaid gave an excellent tour. This excursion is not only a history lesson but also a personal account of the experiences Diarmaid had growing up near the walls. Thank you, for sharing your story and giving an in-depth review on the troubles time period. 5 stars πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

Highly recommend for history buffs!

Diarmaid was a fabulous tour guide and gave us the full history of the political conflicts! Having fairly low background in the topics, he answered our questions and was a gracious tour guide. He is local to the area and grew up there which I believe helped inform of us the true conflict. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about the political history of Belfast and pay respects to the city. It was extremely educational and glad we booked the tour!

Sets the standard for community-led historical tours

This is how history tours should be done, by members of the community who can contextualize past events and bring them to life. I did some research prior to the tour and had many of my questions answered...and by the end, I had even more questions left! I left the tour feeling inspired to continue researching and listening about the history of the Troubles. Highly recommend.

Troubles Tour

Diamond was excellent. He has lived the stories he tells. His presentation of the history of the troubles was balanced and nuanced. He was very personable as well. Highly recommend!
