Itinerary

1

Thonburi Village is a charming and historic area located on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Once the capital of Thailand before Bangkok, Thonburi retains a rich cultural heritage, with peaceful canals (klongs), traditional wooden houses, vibrant local markets, and ancient temples. Unlike the bustling city center, Thonburi offers a slower pace and a glimpse into the traditional Thai way of life. Visitors can enjoy boat tours through its waterways, visit landmarks like Wat Arun and the Artist’s House, and experience authentic local food and crafts in a more relaxed, community-centered setting. Arrive at the village and step out of the car, then follow our tour guide on a short walk through the local community to a charming traditional house. Your first activity of the day is to cook like a local! The host will have all the ingredients prepared, and you'll begin your Thai cooking class in a warm, welcoming home setting.

Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen is a revered Buddhist temple located in the Thonburi district of Bangkok. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and spiritual significance, the temple is a center for meditation and Thai Buddhist studies. One of its most striking features is the massive, gleaming golden Buddha statue that towers over the grounds, along with the modern, multi-story stupa (chedi) which houses a dazzling emerald-green glass pagoda inside. The temple beautifully blends traditional Thai architecture with contemporary elements, making it a unique and photogenic destination. Visitors can explore the serene grounds, admire the intricate artwork, and experience the calm, reflective environment that draws both worshippers and travelers alike.

Set in a restored 200-year-old wooden house, this charming space serves as a community art center where visitors can enjoy traditional Thai puppet shows, art exhibitions, local crafts, and creative workshops. Surrounded by old-world charm and peaceful canal views, the Artist's House offers a glimpse into Bangkok’s artistic and cultural heritage. It's a relaxing spot to explore, take photos, enjoy coffee by the water, and watch daily life unfold in a traditional neighborhood.

The best Cooking class in Bangkok

Absolutely wonderful Thai cooking class. Our day started with a hotel pick up and drop off to the Bangkok pier where a morning boat ride on the river is a delight to the senses, passing by all the sights on the river. We then had a warm welcome by the owner followed by an Amazing garden tour. Great Thai home style cooking recipes sourced from the most popular thai dishes. I have been to several thai cooking classes in Bangkok but Amita is the best. Prices through the agent I Asia Thailand were less than going direct.
