The Bali Snorkeling Experience (and Coffee Farm Excursion)

The snorkeling experience provided by Rukmana Bali Tour was exceptional. Early in the morning our driver, Nanda, was ready to pick us up from our hotel (we'd recommend starting your own snorkeling trip early as well to beat the traffic). From our hotel, Nanda drove us to a restaurant near the snorkeling spot and provided us some instructions on what our day would look like and how to contact him for our return trip. At the restaurant, a guide provided us a menu to choose our post-snorkeling lunches. During this time, the guide allotted us 10 min to use the restroom, suit up, and prepare ourselves. When we were ready, the guide brought us to the docks where we were sized up for fins and life jackets and then escorted to a boat. Our boat driver was very skilled and was able to easily maneuver the boat through the docking area and around other incoming/outgoing ships. We ended up going to two separate snorkeling spots. Both were amazing with crystal clear, blue water. The first area was a little more spread out with shallower water. Here you could easily stay on the surface and have coral and fish within almost an arm's reach. Countless tropical fish inhabited this area and no matter which direction you swam you could see new fish and coral structures. The second area was directly in the cove of blue lagoon beach. This area was much more congested with many boats and other drivers and snorkelers. This snorkeling here was still great, but you had to stay much more mindful of your surroundings. In this area, the water became slightly choppier. After the snorkeling concluded, we were swiftly and smoothly taken back to shore and directed to some showers that we could use to get cleaned up. When we were ready, we sat down in the Pura Rai restaurant and had some lunch. For lunch, I ate fried rice with chicken. The food was really great and hit the spot after treading water for the two hours prior. Once we had finished lunch, I reached out to Nanda and he promptly returned to the restaurant to pick us up, opening the doors and helping us into the car when he got there. On the ride back to the hotel, we mentioned to Nanda that we had to figure out what else to do with our day since we thought the snorkeling experience would last longer into the afternoon. Upon hearing this, Nanda made a suggestion of checking out one of the coffee plantations in the area where coffee, cacao, and vanilla beans are grown and processed. Without hesitation, Nanda took us to the coffee plantation were our Bali experienced continued and we had a unique and unplanned opportunity to see how coffee was grown and produced on a local farm. At the coffee bean farm, Taru Agro, we were guided through the processes or producing coffee beans and processing then into coffee. In addition, we were shown the Lewaks (a nocturnal animal) which consume coffee beans which are then used to create a special coffee after digestion. We were offered a free sampler of 16 different coffees and teas to try. For 50k IDR, I also tried the Lewak coffee which was strong and tastey. My favorite coffee was the avocado coffee which was a strange, yet pleasant taste combination (my favorite tea was the red ginger tea which had a nice and spicy kick to it). Overall, the Bali snorkeling experience provided through Rukmana Bali Tour was an exceptional experience, made better through our trustworthy and kind driver, Nanda. Even with the chaotic drivers and construction around us, Nanda maintained calm composure and continued cordial and fun conversation, providing valuable insight into Bali culture and life on the island.

Great time during and after snorkeling

We had an amazing snorkeling tour with Yudi Bali! From start to finish, he was friendly, professional, and made sure we had a fantastic experience. The snorkeling spots were beautiful, and he made everything easy and enjoyable. What really made the day special was that after snorkeling, Yudi took us on a personalized tour around Bali. He was happy to take us to all the places we wanted to see, shared great local knowledge, and made us feel like we were exploring the island with a friend rather than just a guide. He was flexible, accommodating, and made sure we got the most out of our day. If you're looking for a snorkeling guide who goes above and beyond, I can't recommend Yudi Bali enough. Thank you for an unforgettable experience—we'd definitely book with him again!

Lovely day out - except for the traffic!

The booking process was easy enough but it took a while to sorry out our pick up. The whole experience ran seamlessly. We had a long drive from Nusa Dua. It took an hour and a half to get there and an extra hour to get home again. The trip itself was quite a cultural experience. We got to see things we wouldn't have seen if we just stayed in the tourist areas. A lot of agriculture, especially rice paddies. Our driver UDIA, was very friendly and kept us well informed about his arrival time. He is a skillful driver who negotiated the traffic as quickly as he could while still keeping us safe. His English is not great but enough to get by. His car was not new but very clean with good air-conditioning. Thank you UDIA. Tha actual snorkeling excursion was most enjoyable. It's only a short boat trip and our"captain" was so friendly, with a most engaging smile. The water really was blue. So beautiful. And we saw quite a few fish, but no turtles. Getting from the water back into the boat can be challenging depending on age and fitness level. I am a 70 y.o. lady and only just managed it with some help . The meal at the restaurant was very tasty and the young lad who looked after us couldn't do enough for us. Despite the long drive and traffic it was a great way to spend the day.

Snorkeling

Very good experience. Diving with a beautiful seabed and many fish. Not too many people, so the experience was even more enjoyable. Our driver Soma was great with good explanations and good advice about the island and even let us take a nap on the way back. Very careful driving, I highly recommend him to you.
