Full description

Mexico City is a kaleidoscope of cultures. Within this metropolis different micro cities have flourished, all with their own history, style and subtle differences in cuisine. We will track down the flavors born in Azcapotzalco, learn about their origin and meet the people preserving them.
We will start with a cafe de olla, spiced coffee, and a piece of sweet bread and continue with a second breakfast including huevos encamisados, enchiladas, freshly-made juices among other incredible treats. Later on, we'll taste succulent offal tacos, a reminder of slaughterhouses once located in the area, and we'll stop into an artisanal tortilleria. At a 3rd-generation street stand we will sample drinks that trace their roots to Aztec times. We’ll finish up in a centenary cantina to try the house cocktail and small dishes that reflect both classic Mexican traditions and the founders’ European origin. By the end you'll have a better grasp of Azcapotzalco’s unique collage of foods and landscapes.
