Lot of walking and history
This trip was really worth it. There’s a lot of history in both Segovia and Avila, along with some very interesting architecture. The tour does take all day, and there’s quite a bit of walking with some inclines. Honestly you could spend a whole day in each location so it did feel a little rushed. There’s only one real stop to pick up souvenirs in Segovia and you need to skip lunch for that. The tour included a free drink (Coke, wine, Fanta, etc.) and a snack (piece of bread with a small slice of tortilla de patatas). There’s not stop in Avila for souvenirs, except at the welcome center and they don’t have much to offer. Overall, it’s a really good tour, but wish we’d had some time to stop along the way.
Segovia and Avila trip
The experience was good in both places. The only thing that I would recommend to improve is to improve the connectors to hear the tour since the audio in mine fades sometimes. Furthermore, it would be good if 10 extra min are given in segovia to buy souvenirs after the restaurant
Great day out experiencing the history of Segovia and Avila.
Pleasant bus ride, great venues visited and very informative commentary by Nacho.
Good day
Knowledgeable guide in Nacho and good driver in Luis Michael. Well paced with breaks and interesting anecdotes to go with the main lectures which added to the experience. Good day overall.
Not a great tour
We were really looking forward to this trip but unfortunately our guide just didn’t deliver. It was the end of our three week trip in Spain and we’d had many tours, most wonderful…this one wasn’t. It wasn’t the guides fault that there was such a muck up with the headphones…but that detracted immediately and especially whilst at the Alcazar as we couldn’t hear him at all. The delivery of his content was hard to understand and not interesting…we could hear another tour group in English who had the local guide and that sounded great…..we wished we were on her tour. The remainder of the tour continued, with some people breaking away as they were dissatisfied as well. We were also taken to a restaurant for lunch that was AWFUL…I had thought we were having free time for lunch and it should have been properly explained that we could do this (some did) but we stayed and it was money and time wasted. I had hoped that with a guide I would have a better experience than going on my own, and whilst I did receive information, it was not the experience I had hoped for at all.
