Itinerary
Begin your 9-hour tour with a drive from your hotel in Buenos Aires to the village of San Antonio de Areco. Enjoy views of the pampas en route and listen to commentary about the area from your guide.
Visit a traditional silversmith's workshop, where skilled artisans craft exquisite pieces like mates and belt buckles, preserving gaucho traditions. Afterwards, a stop at a local chocolate shop provides a sweet contrast. These two brief stops perfectly showcase Areco's enduring craftsmanship and delightful local treats.
Located on Segundo Sombra Street, between Alsina and Arrellano. Don José Ruiz de Arellano founded the first oratory in the center of his stay. The foundation of this oratory was very important for the creation of the town. In the years 1720 and 1728, the first chapel was built, it was located a little more to the right than the current one. The foundation stone of the present church was placed on February 7, 1869 and was buried under the central entrance door. Inside it was placed a lead box containing the original records written on parchment, newspapers of the day, medals and coins of the time.
Make your way to a Estancia in Buenos Aires in San Antonia de Areco. At this place, you will have a chance to take rides on horses while enjoying some traditional cold cuts, cheeses and beverages. Then, you will enjoy a typical Argentinian barbeque of the finest meats. While you have dessert, you will be able to see a folklore show followed by a demonstration of gaucho skills.

A must-try Gaucho experience for anyone visiting Buenos Aires
My wife and I had an amazing Gaucho experience at El Ombú de Areco! The tour was perfectly organized and gave us a wonderful taste of Argentine countryside culture. From the relaxing horse riding to the lively traditional dancing and the delicious asado, every part of the day was memorable. A special thank you to our guide Veronica, who was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout the tour. Also, a big shoutout to Diego for being such a reliable and professional driver, making the journey smooth and comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Buenos Aires and looking for an authentic estancia experience!
Fantastic Experience
Small group tour. Everything from hotel pickup, horse riding, food, wine, music, dancing, and Gaucho skills experience was just perfect. It made for one of the best days in Argentina. Our guide Oreana (sp?) was wonderfully sweet and knowledgeable.
10 out of 10!
Such a great excursion! Definitely worth it! The food was phenomenal. The show at the end gives you a hands on experience in the culture. Martina was a lovely guide! So sweet and great at getting everyone involved.
A good trip with an amazing tour guide
The tour wasn't quite for us as we found there was quite a bit of waiting around. However we will stress how amazing the tour guide Oriana was and also how helpful Signature tours were when we changed dates at the last minute. Oriana was super friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. She constantly checked in with all the groups on the tour to make sure they were all looked after and did lot's of small additional bits to enhance the tour. If you have time in Buenos Aires we would recommend this trip.
