Join one of the top-rated San Sebastián cooking classes and discover authentic Basque cuisine in a private, family-run restaurant—opened exclusively for your small group. Led by a professional local chef, this hands-on Basque cooking experience is perfect for food lovers of all skill levels, with no prior cooking experience required.
Over approximately two and a half hours, learn how to prepare a full menu of traditional Basque dishes from scratch. Create iconic regional specialities, including a classic Gilda pintxo, Spanish tortilla (potato omelette), stuffed piquillo peppers and the famous Basque burnt cheesecake. As you cook, your chef will share expert techniques, local tips, and the cultural stories behind each dish.
After cooking, sit down to enjoy the complete meal you’ve prepared, paired with authentic Basque drinks. Learn how to pour traditional Basque cider and enjoy it alongside carefully selected red and white wines, for a memorable local tasting experience. Before you leave, take home the recipes for what you've made and a souvenir apron, so you can recreate these authentic Basque dishes in your own kitchen.

- Unfortunately due to the nature of this tour it is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments or with wheelchairs, or strollers.
- We accommodate gluten-free (non celiac), non-alcoholic, and no meat/no pork
- Those with dietary restrictions or food allergies need to email our Guest Experience team at info@takewalks.com after booking the tour so we can arrange your ingredients.
- This event will happen in the Gros Neighborhood, accessible by bus, train and car. We will have a closed space where you can leave your belongings. The whole experience will be standing up.

- This is a walking tour. Guests should be able to walk at a moderate pace without difficulty.
- This tour is not suitable for children.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations received greater than 24 hours prior to tour commencement are fully refundable. Cancellations received within 24 hours of tour commencement are nonrefundable. Amendment requests are subject to availability and price changes. Late arrivals and no shows are nonrefundable. This is applicable to any tour participant that fails to arrive, or arrives after tour departure.

Her knowledge of the falls and the stories behind them was the perfect balance of informative and entertaining.
