Itinerary
This stop includes a 20 minute break followed by a visit to the permanent exhibition in the former prisoner blocks of Auschwitz I, the mother camp.
The second part of the Auschwitz camp complex is Birkenau, the former extermination camp and the largest prisoner camp built by the Nazi regime in Europe. After the visit, there will be a break of up to 20 min.
If you choose a combination trip with Wieliczka Salt Mine, you will have a 1-hour lunch break before the second trip. The break could be in Oswiecim, Krakow or Wieliczka.
In the combination trip, you will also visit the Salt Mine in Wieliczka, 20 km from Krakow Old Town. The guide will lead you underground to the depths of the Mine, using hundreds of downward spiralling steps. Afterwards, you will return to the surface by lift/elevator.

Traveler reviews
Yay Gregory
Gregory was an awesome and funny driver, and the Salt Mine was very fun. Highly recommend!
Do not book your tour with these people!
We booked an Auschwitz tour through Headout almost two months in advance, so naturally we assumed that our place was secured. Instead, less than 24 hours before departure, we were informed that the tour had been cancelled due to “operational issues.” What this actually meant was that the tour operator had failed to secure entry tickets from the museum. It is extremely frustrating that a booking can be accepted, confirmed, and held for two months despite admission not actually being guaranteed. Yes, we received a refund, but that does not compensate for the fact that we planned part of our holiday around this visit and had limited time in Poland. By the time the cancellation came through, it was too late to make alternative arrangements. What was particularly disappointing was the complete lack of effort to resolve the situation. No alternative date, no alternative tour, no assistance in finding another operator, and no goodwill gesture despite the extremely late cancellation. The response was simply that the tour was cancelled and the money would be refunded. If visiting Auschwitz is an important part of your trip, I would strongly recommend booking directly with Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum rather than through third-party resellers. Our experience suggests that even a booking made months in advance and marked as confirmed does not necessarily mean tickets have actually been secured. A refund returns the money. It does not restore a missed experience or a disrupted holiday itinerary. After booking nearly two months ahead, we expected far better planning, communication, and customer care. Instead, we were left scrambling at the last minute with no meaningful support or solution offered.
Holidays ruined
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PEOPLE - SHAME OF A COMPANY THAT SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing and damaging to our trip that I feel compelled to warn other travellers. We booked and paid for our Auschwitz-Birkenau tour with Legendary Kraków over two months in advance. This was not a last-minute booking. We carefully planned our entire holiday around this visit, arranged our accommodation, transport, and schedule accordingly, and trusted the company to deliver a service that had been confirmed and paid for well ahead of time. To our shock, we were informed the day before the tour that it had been cancelled because they had been unable to secure tickets. Let that sink in: a company that sells Auschwitz tours accepted our booking and payment more than two months in advance but apparently failed to obtain the tickets necessary to provide the service they had sold. To make matters worse, the communication throughout the process was poor and offered little reassurance. We were simply informed that the tour could not go ahead, despite having booked well in advance and having every reason to believe our reservation was secure. There was no meaningful solution offered, no viable alternative arranged, and no acknowledgment of the impact that such a late cancellation would have on visitors who had planned their itineraries around this experience. The most frustrating part is that this was entirely avoidable. If a company knows that tickets are limited, it is their responsibility to secure them when customers book, or at the very least to communicate honestly about availability. Instead, we were given confirmation, allowed to believe everything was arranged, and then left stranded with virtually no time to find an alternative. Anyone who has visited Kraków knows that Auschwitz is often one of the main reasons people travel there. For us, it was one of the most important parts of our trip. By cancelling at the last minute, Legendary Kraków didn’t just cancel an excursion—they ruined a significant part of our holiday. Alternative tours were either fully booked or vastly more expensive by that stage. The refund does not compensate for the lost opportunity, the stress, the wasted time spent reorganising our plans, and the disappointment of missing something we had specifically travelled to experience. A refund simply returns money for a service that was never provided; it does not restore the experience that was taken away. Mistakes can happen in any business. What separates a professional company from an unprofessional one is how they manage those mistakes. Accepting bookings months in advance without ensuring availability, only to cancel at the very last moment, demonstrates poor organisation and a complete lack of respect for customers’ time and travel plans. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering booking with Legendary Kraków to think carefully before relying on them for an important part of their trip. If they can cancel a fully paid booking made over two months in advance with less than 24 hours’ notice, there is no guarantee that your plans are safe either. Extremely disappointing experience and one that left a lasting negative impression on what was otherwise a wonderful visit to Kraków.
The Salt Mine Guided Tour with Transfer
We booked the Salt Mine shared English guided tour with hotel pickup during our trip to Kraków and paid £122.50 for two people. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. Our driver picked us up from the hotel and we sat at the front of the minibus. He was very pleasant, informative, spoke excellent English and gave very clear instructions throughout the journey. There were around 10 people on the bus, which made the transfer feel comfortable and well organised. Once at the Salt Mines, our guide was fantastic — extremely knowledgeable, engaging and again spoke very good English. Other visitors joined the group there, making the tour group around 25 people in total, but it never felt rushed or overcrowded. The pace of the tour was nice and relaxed, giving everyone enough time to really take in the incredible surroundings and information being shared. The tour lasted approximately 2.5 hours and everything ran smoothly. We met our transfer back at the car park exactly at the time we had been given. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kraków. A huge thank you to our driver Grzegorz.
Great experience visiting the salt mine
The driver picked up us on time and was very friendly. The van was comfortable and we made it to the salt mines without any issues. The salt mine is worth visiting, just remember there is a lot of walking.
