Atlas Mountains 4 Valleys Adventure

The Atlas Mountains themselves were beautiful, and the waterfall hike was definitely the highlight of the day. Our guide was pleasant, and the lunch we had was very good. However, overall, we found this tour disappointing and felt the description did not accurately set expectations. There were 16 people in a minivan, and we spent a lot of the day in the vehicle. Unfortunately, there was very little narration or information from the guide during the drives. It would have made a big difference to understand where we were going, what we were seeing, and more about the different valleys and villages along the way. The first stop was the **camel ride**, which was not at all what we expected. The camels were located right alongside the highway and appeared to be kept there for the rides. What concerned us most was how the animals were treated. The camels were chained, with their legs tethered to the ground so they could not move freely. We also saw them being hit to make them sit down or stand up. The ride itself was about 20 minutes, simply going around in a small circle. We did not feel this was an enjoyable or ethical camel-riding experience, and this was particularly disappointing. Several of the early stops also felt more like sales opportunities than sightseeing. The first stop was essentially to shop, followed by a so-called breakfast that consisted of a piece of bread with honey. We were then given demonstrations of how various products were made and encouraged to purchase lotions, spices, creams, etc. These stops took up valuable time on an already very long day. The hike to the waterfall was enjoyable but much more challenging and technical than the tour description suggested. It involved narrow, rocky paths, climbing over rocks, and some difficult footing. Calling it simply a “hike to the waterfall” does not adequately prepare travelers for the conditions. We would especially caution older travelers or anyone with mobility or balance issues. Lunch was very good, but the portions were quite small for two people, especially considering that lunch was an additional expense and not included in the tour price. The scenery in the Atlas Mountains is beautiful, and we are glad we experienced it. However, between the long hours in the van, limited narration, multiple sales-oriented stops, and the unexpectedly challenging hike, we felt the tour could have been much better organized and described. If you book this tour, be prepared for a very long day, a significant amount of driving, shopping stops, and a fairly strenuous hike.

Excellent trip. My family and I loved it. From the camel ride to the hike and lunch. All great. Mohammed the guide was excellent and helped with my youngest child to manage the hike. Yassine the driver was punctual and very polite and helpful too.

Our group had mixed feelings about the day. First, the hike to the waterfall is not an easy hike. We are all around 65 and in good health and are fit. The waterfall is underwhelming; at least in August. We couldn't believe the trash everywhere! It is really a problem. The meal at the end was superb, and it was an interesting day. The camel ride in the parking lot was cheesy, but fun. some in our group thought the treatment of the camels was not humane. I did not feel that. Our guide did a great job.

Me and my friends loved this tour so much! We recommend this tour especially Youness who was our driver for our tour around Imlil and he was amazing, kind, and friendly to us and made sure we were having the best time. Rachid was our hike guide and he explained to us about the Atlas Mountains and brought us to waterfalls and showed us the most beautiful places
