Atlantic Coast Day Trip: Oualidia & Safi

I went on an excursion to Safi and Oualidia, and it was simply great! We had an excellent day. The meal was delicious and very hearty. A big thank you to our guide, Oussama, who was very kind, helpful, funny, and who drove very carefully. I absolutely do not regret this excursion, which will leave me with very beautiful memories. Oussama was with us throughout the trip, and he felt much more like a true friend than just a driver. He was incredibly friendly, flexible (even with all of my extra bathroom stops!), and kind. He drove professionally, even through the narrowest streets, so I felt completely safe the entire time. Despite the long journey, I didn’t feel carsick at all. Our first stop was Safi, where he took us to a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. We were able to take some amazing photos before continuing to a traditional pottery workshop, where, after a bit of friendly bargaining, we found some incredible bargains. By the time we arrived in Oualidia, we were hungry, so we enjoyed a delicious lunch before spending the rest of the afternoon swimming and relaxing by the ocean. It was not crowded some locals were here, must be a hidden gem! We also had the chance to try fresh oysters for just a few cents. I think it’s something everyone should experience at least once—they were surprisingly delicious! In the late afternoon, we headed back to our accommodation. I wholeheartedly recommend Oussama to anyone visiting Morocco. The next time I come back, I’ll definitely ask for him again. He’s fantastic company and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We decided at the last minute to take this trip and I must say I made the right decision. Safi was wonderful, as was Oualidia. But the greatest jewel of the day was our guide, Hamza, a wonderful person who taught us so much on this day. Thanks to him, we saw places that would have been impossible on our own, not to mention his attention and care towards my family. If you can, ask for Hamza, he will make your trip as unforgettable as ours.
