Mountain Armenia 🇦🇲
Beautiful trip to Amberd, Mount Aragats and Lake Kari, to Sagmosavank and to the monument to the Armenian alphabet. 🏔️🇦🇲 Stunning views, interesting route and excellent organization. Special thanks to our guide Samwell for the fascinating stories and to driver Ashot for the comfortable and safe road. It was a very busy and memorable day!
A good day out
The trip was good although the Alphabet Park was rather shabby. It could be smarter. We then drove through marvellous countryside to see a very high lake around 3000 metres above sea level. Once we got there it was rather a let down, nothing much there, restaurant was closed and no washrooms available. The stop at a monastery was interesting and our final stop was a fortress which is closed off to visitors because of renovations but the monastery there was very unique as it was a 1000 years old and to demonstrate the acoustics within the church our guide sang us a Gregorian chant. That was rather charming. Our guide was called Karen as was our bus driver. Karen (guide) spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about the sights we saw and generally. This company is professional and all the mini buses have WIFI on board.
Wonders of Armenia
Not too hectic & long, cool & relaxing. The road to lake Kari is absolutely scenic, with so many sheep farms, exotic landscape, zig zag bends, a total scenic route. Lake Kari is another world to immerse in. Living in the moment that the bus moves upslope without power. Thanks to our guide & driver, Karen
