Traveler reviews
Top shelf Arlington cemetery tour with James
Our guide, James, was very knowledgeable and accommodating to give us the best experience. His inside information of the graves of honorable people of history was invaluable. He made sure that we got an upfront and special view of the ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and changing of the guard. We give him a gold star review!!!
Amazing experience, guide...
Amazing experience, guide was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly answered all questions and was extremely detailed in answering questions. Thanks
History expert was great
Great tour. James is very knowledgeable and provided us with a wealth of information. Nice that he allowed us to take a few breaks on the benches to let everything soak in, especially in the hot weather.
Arlington Cemetery is awesome. Tour guide, not so much
Arlington cemetery is a remarkable place. The experience was great. However, the tour guide, Mr James was a big fail. Nice guy. Big heart. But he is NOT good at leading a tour. He knows history but shares data points that are not connected. He goes off on random subjects. He stops at unusual spots like hallways and blocks traffic flow. Find someone else please.
Tour Guide Issue
The cemetery proper was fine! However, our tour guide, James, sucked. He would walk ahead of us, our party of eight, and talk out loud, but not facing us at all. On several occasions, he also said so we can get where we’re going a little faster. Let’s go across the grass area, so we went around the strap fence area into the cemetery, proper, up-and-down hills, which was very dangerous for me as I am 76 years old. But that was the only way he would go. We miss changing of the guard because he said two things… One let’s sit here for a couple minutes as I know the best ways to go, and secondly, we got there late and the crowd was enormous. Very disappointing!
