Itinerary

1

Watch the sunrise over the largest religious complex in the world! Angkor Wat has to be experienced to be believed, and sunrise is the best experience of all, guided by our local Khmer experts. We leave the hostel early!

Duration: 1 hourAdmission: NO
2

Angkor Thom was the latter capital of the Angkor Empire. The road takes us through the famous South Gate, lined with gods and demons locked in an eternal tug-of-war. The temple of Bayon at the centre of the site is lined with countless beatific carved faces, gazing eternally at the surrounding forest.

Duration: 1 hourAdmission: NO
3

Ta Prohm is a picturesque and attractive ruin partially retaken by jungle. It is also known as 'the Tomb Raider temple', made famous by Angelina Jolie in the 2001 film.

Duration: 1 hourAdmission: NO
4

Banteay Kdei is also known as 'the citadel of monk's cells'. It is partially overgrown with towering, sinous trees. The silk cotton tree roots weaving their way through the stones of the ruined walls is a famously beautiful sight.

Duration: 1 hourAdmission: NO
5

Ta Keo was never finished, and as such has a very different aspect to most of the Angkor temples. It's square, layered-pyramid shape makes it one of the more dramatic sites on the tour and climbing the terraces affords some beautiful views over the jungle.

Duration: 1 hourAdmission: NO
6

[Only for sunset tours] Phnom Bakheng is a hilltop temple built hundreds of years before Angkor Wat. It is also one of the best places to watch the sunset in Cambodia, as it overlooks Angkor Wat itself.

Duration: 1 hourAdmission: NO

Off the beaten track

Very nice to discover the temples by bike. Especially since you get off the beaten track. Our guide Vone also pointed out nice positions for photos. In short, highly recommended.

Best Angkor Wat Experience

Love this tour! We did sunset bike tour and it was so much fun! Our guide Sam Vone was amazing! He was passionate to tell us history and interesting information on Angkor Wat and Khmer. He is also a great photographer. If you want cool photos he is the guy to ask for.

Best way to experience Angkor Wat

We did the sunrise tour with Sam Vone, who is such a jolly, happy guide. He picked us up in a tuk-tuk at 4:30 and then led us by bike through the dark and found the best spot to see the sun rise over Angkor Wat. Throughout the day, he answered all our questions, found us water and stopped whenever the oppressive, dry season heat got to us, and took us both on and off road between the most iconic temples. He knows the best spots for photos, and stopped at a village market to buy some unique fruits we had never seen before. Highly recommend!!

Angkor Wat sunset bike tour

My husband and I did the sunset bike tour and it was fantastic. Stinking hot day but we managed to finish it. Our tour guide Sam Vone was very very good and went into great detail about the history of the temples. He was also a very good photographer and took same beautiful photos of us at the sites visited. Would highly recommend this tour and Sam.
