Traveler reviews
Don’t do it
Don’t do it, #1- no info on arts and native population #2-stop the sexist jokes , became tiresome #3- fill the 2 hours with actual sightseeing , not stopping in front of underground house for 15 minutes and telling us your personal history
Anchorage Trolley Tour
Very entertaining experience. Learned about the Anchorage history and the earthquake. I definitely recommend this tour.
Trolley in Anchorage
My husband and I were looking for an activity while we were waiting for our hotel room. The guide was great. Unfortunately we didn’t see any wildlife. We were a bit disappointed in stops the Trolley made. Not much to see.
Completely Disappointed
They advertise there is a/c, but there is not. The tour guide talked about his upbringing and relationships with family members the whole way as a way to talk about life in Alaska rather than provide details about Anchorage/Alaska. I would never recommend this tour.
Nice tour with a great guide
We did the 11:00 Deluxe City Tour. Finding, checking in, and boarding the trolley was very easy. Our tour was a little late leaving, but it was also late returning, so that was fine. The guide, Ian, was full of so much interesting information about Anchorage- the culture, the history and the people. He was very humorous which made people feel welcomed and made the ride more enjoyable. We did not see any wildlife, which we actually didn't really expect, so that was fine, but it is a highlight listed on their website. Based on the website description we expected much more stop and hop-off; we only got off the trolley twice. We stopped at a creek and stayed there far too long, in my opinion. One of the stops I was most looking forward to was Earthquake Park, but when we stopped we were strongly discouraged from getting off the trolley due to mosquitos. I was also hopping to stop and get out at the seaplane base but we had to settle for watching a plane take off from the road. All and all, not a bad tour but not exactly as advertised. Again, we did love all of the Alaska history and information that our guide shared. The bus seats were comfortable and decently roomy, but the bus was quite warm inside. I would not recommend this tour for children- I think they would be very bored.
