Pass by: The most common theory on the origin of the name is as a derivation of the French word jardin, meaning garden: most streets and canals in the Jordaan are named after trees and flowers. Another theory is that the Prinsengracht canal was once nicknamed Jordaan (the Dutch name for the river Jordan), and that the neighbourhood beyond the canal came to be called this as well. Our Flagship canal tour will stard and end here in the Jordaan

Not a great experience with this trip.

Our first reservation was with a boat that broke down and we had to disembark Spoke to customer service, and they were able to rebook us for the next day...but at the wrong time. Spoke to customer service and they fixed it. So our second try, we had Isabella and Eduardo for our captain/host. They were very nice and answered questions, but we didn't really hear a lot about the city. On the itinerary it shows all these different locations that we would see. They didn't point out any except one. There was not a lot of history or stories told. We had signed up for drinks & bites. We were given drinks, but there were no "bites" Not sure exactly what that should have been. It's clearly in the title of the excursion, but nope. Then at the end, they asked for tips. Overall 3/5 just for the boat trip and the friendliness of the crew, but not a great experience and I would not recommend anyone else to do this tour.
