The railway market is...

The railway market is worth seeing and the guide knows when to take you there. The floating market isn't on the canal anymore but on the canal bank which is still nice to see. As it is a long ride to the places you need a sociable guide, which Paul truly was.

Lights, locomotives and longtails.

Kitty (guide) and Jaroen (driver) were very engaging, accommodating and humorous. We were immersed in history, culture, natural beauty and delicious street food and throughly enjoyed our time with them. Highly recommend them both.

Additional information

We visit an ancient temple during this tour. Remember that temples are sacred places and you must dress appropriately. Shoulders and knees need to be covered. Don't expect countless vendors in boats at Amphawa Market; this market is more like a canal-side market. In Thai, these markets are called “talat nam” which literally means “water market”, but is translated to English as “floating market”. Of course, there are some vendors on small wooden boats that cook and sell their food to visitors. But you will mostly find dozens of restaurants and food stalls along the canal serving delicious food and local delicacies. Amphawa Market is definitely worth visiting though. It is a very popular market among the locals because of all the delicious snacks and food that can be found there. Maximum number of participants per group is 10 persons.
