Traveler reviews
Great tour!!
Ahmed is the best tour guide.. with all the knowledge and history that he shared with the tour is worth every penny spent on this tour.. adding also the great picture he took for the us.. i highly recommend this tour.. thank you for welcoming us and taking care of us…
George is really nice....
George is really nice. The journey was comfortable and he ensured that we all are good at all times. I will recommend not to do guided tour. Instead just pay for the travel. Guides will not go inside the Abu Simbel with you and there is no need to pay extra money for that.
The best option.
The best option among those I had. I looked at reviews for this excursion and other websites, and I was convinced that they were very positive and the price was very good. The best part of all was our guide George, a charming guy. He did everything possible for us to understand his explanations in English, as we were a bit limited with the language. He made us feel very comfortable and safe at all times. Always attentive to us and to what we might need. The return, despite being many kilometers and the fatigue from the early morning (much less than with the cruise), was very enjoyable with laughter and anecdotes from everyone. A highly recommended experience. Everything as contracted. Perfect.
Excellent customer service by Nice Tours
I had booked a previous and more expensive tour to Abu Simbel but the operator ghosted me then I contacted Nice tours. They were very professional, polite and quick to respond. I booked at 10:30 pm and got picked up at 3:40 am! The tour went according to plan. It was an air conditioned bus with six other passengers, a tour guide, a driver and co-driver. The journey to Abu Simbel is 3.5 hours. There is an obligatory rest stop where all the private and group tours stop in order to go together to the site for added safety. Once at the site we got 1 hour and 40 minutes to wonder (which is plenty of time). The guide also told us that he would give us more time if needed but that was not necessary. The tour guide doesn’t go with you, so you can wonder around the site on your own. There are two temples and once you’ve taken pictures inside and outside there isn’t much to do. There is a government shop that sells authentic souvenirs. The prices are reasonable and there is no haggling as prices are set. The vendors don’t try to push you to buy things since it’s owned by the government. If you are in Abu Simbel I would recommend it.
Meh
The Abu Simbel temple is magnificent, but we did not like our guide, Emad Aiad, who gave us explanations in the minibus at 4 a.m. when we were barely awake. Moreover, we gave him a tip, and he asked us for a larger amount. The visit was too quick for our taste; we would have liked to enjoy the place more, especially after a 4-hour drive, but everything was rushed. That said, I recommend this temple, which is gigantic and impressive!
