Traveler reviews
DUD tour company lost my trust
DUD tour company lost my trust and these are reasons why - [ ] Not transparent on what hotels we stayed and the single room ammedqity. Only Viator.com disclosed the hotels at my time of booking but they downgraded the hotels in the last minutes. - [ ] Last minute changes in Itinerary. No longer overnight in Bicheno (nicer). Over night in St Helens instead. - [ ] We stayed at a RV “Retreat” Park in Strahan. Everyone carried their 20kg luggages on uneven gravels, drainage, grasses in the dark using a paper map and no signs. Some damaged their rollers. - [ ] Stayed at Allurity, Hobart (dirty rooms) instead of Travelodge (3 star clean rooms). Guide did not know the last minute downgrade and dropped us off at Travelodge. When no rooms for us, we called the Guide. He suggested us to walk 750 meter (0.48 miles) with luggages to Allurity from Travelodge and we refused. - [ ] Their guides are daily paid contractors. I have questions about their experiences. This tour is not for 40+ and physically unfit. There’s are reason why - [ ] Hike and Climb everyday. Cradle Mountain (for example) takes 3 hour and little time to eat and enjoy the view. - [ ] Guide wants you to buy our breakfast, lunch and dinner from supermarkets and use the microwave in the hotel rooms. - [ ] Hotels are not close to nice restaurants featuring hot local crusines. - [ ] Coffee and bathroom break are 15-20 minutes on average. No time to purchase and enjoy the bakery. Skip the breaks if we are running late. - [ ] Travelled in a small Mitsubishi NEO van intended for 17 persons. They put 19 uncomfortable seats. Very weak air and fog up windows. The provided cloth is no use for the fog up windows.
Perfect tour for fit and active people
It was an excellent tour, way exceeded our expectations. Keygun, our driver and guide, was the most enthusiastic guide we had so far and we had done many tours over the seven continents. We are retired active couples and really enjoyed the challenging hike such as climbing up Mt Amos with Keygun. He always offered easier options for those who wanted a more relaxed pace.
Great tour, atmosphere, and quality.
Brendon our tour guide was amazing, getting to discover Tasmania through people that know and love the island is amazing. If I were to do it again I would probably pick the 10 days tour and I can't wait to go back.
7 days Under Down Under trip 👍🏻✨
My boyfriend and I have been on a 7 day Under Down Tour and were lucky to have Keygan as our guide - he was simply the sweetest and told us so many exciting things about Tasmania, history, nature and knew almost everything we asked about or wanted to know. We felt in very safe hands and had some exciting days - where Cradle Mountain is especially on our top list of days (including the cute wombats on the route). The last two days of the tour we got a new guide Lynna who was also super cute and committed to making our days good! Thanks for some adventurous days!
Absolutely worth it!
We had a wonderful time on this 7-day tour. Keygan, our guide for the first five days, was by far the best guide we have ever experienced. He was knowledgeable, funny, energetic, and overall just a great guy. The itinerary we received beforehand was clear and well-organized. We liked the pace during the week; active and outdoorsy, exactly as described. The hostels were all fine. Every bed and towel was clean. Shared areas were in fine condition. We choose the double room in a hostel option. Luckily, the weather held up, allowing us to hike Mount Amos. As it was my first time doing a hike of that intensity, I really appreciated Keygan’s support; his tips made the experience much more manageable and pleasant. All in all, we look back on an exhausting but incredible tour of Tassie. I would certainly recommend this trip to anyone looking to experience Tasmania's stunning nature and wildlife.
