The 6 day drive worked...

The 6 day drive worked well for our family of 4. They sent an itinerary with suggestions of sites/activities for each location. The rental car was a nice standard SUV. The SUV accommodated 4 adults, with a medium sized suitcase for each adult, plus one carry-on suitcase and 4 backpacks. We did not have problems with gas driving between Punta Arenas and Puerta Natales or from Puerta Natales to Torres del Paine and back, as seen in other reviews. The road from Puerto Natales is partially paved and otherwise gravel road, starting after Milodón Cave. Where paved, potholes are a significant problem. We saw many others changing tires on the side of the road or driving cars using the spare tire. We did not have any problems, but drove with caution to avoid this potential issue. The hotels were all excellent hotels (2 rooms, one room with matrimonial and one room with 2 twin beds requested) for each location. Each location had a standard buffet breakfast included. In Punta Arenas we stayed at Hotel Cabo de Hornos, with a beautiful view of the square. At check-in they asked for an additional 35,000 pesos per room, which was resolved after contacting the tour organizer. In Puerto Natales we stayed at Costaustralis, also within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Within Torres del Paine, we stayed at Hotel Lago Grey, which was located within the park, directly on Grey Lake, and had a nice restaurant/bar. The hotel was on the west side of the park, but not far for trekking during the day. Hotel Lago Grey offers a Catamaran ride to a glacier at the end of the lake, but beware there is a 30 minute walk across a rocky sand bridge to board and deboard the boat. Based on our experience, if we ever have the opportunity to travel to Patagonia again, we would consider using this again.

Trip to Patagonia

The trip to Patagonia is wonderful, we did it by van, now we will return to do it on the tours and be able to reach the base of the towers and the places that we could not reach while trekking. Totally recommended
