Traveler reviews
Excellent tour
Marwa fatafeat elsoker AQ very prepared and friendly. We saw the valley of kings and Karnak and hathesput. All fascinating.
Great tour guide
Alaa Hassan was our guide in Luxor, valley of Kings. He was simply excellent. Just the right amount of details, timely, good energy, took us to the right touristy shops. Excellent English. Helped us with the photos. He understood what we wanted and helped us very well in achieving it. Very happy.
Nile Cruise with perfect guide
The Nile cruise was perfect. The food and the crew truly gave their very best. What made our cruise especially memorable, was our guide, Bebo. We were fortunate to have him with us for the whole four days of the cruise. From the very beginning, he shared his extensive knowledge about every place we visited. He explained the stories carved into the walls of the temples with great enthusiasm. Whenever we asked a question, he always had an answer. And if something was not immediately clear, he patiently explained it again in a different way until we fully understood. He was the guide we dreamed of having on our trip. Whenever you book something with Nice Tours, ask for him; you won’t regret it. Thank you, Bebo, for your time, your dedication, and your knowledge. You made our cruise truly marvellous and unforgettable. We hope you had a safe journey home to your family.
Fun and Chaotic Week in Egypt
This tour was probably the most chaotic tour we have ever booked. That said, everything worked out and feel that overall, it was a great value and not disappointed in what we got to see. I would recommend this trip to others, but it would come with some caveats. The tour company itinerary online while somewhat detailed, did left gaps in certain areas that I looked for additional answers for. Although I sent them several messages through the website, I never received a response. It wasn’t until I found their WhatsApp contact that I was finally able get in contact with someone and even then, we didn’t get very good responses to our questions, we were on the verge of cancelling the tour but decided to just go with it. One of the questions that I had that wasn’t fully answered until we were on the trip was if the hotels in Luxor and Cairo were covered as part of the trip and where we would be staying. Both are covered and apparently, they don’t book the rooms until the day before. We ended up in The Temple Hotel in Luxor and the Three Pyramids Boutique Hotel in Giza. Both hotels were nice. I do know there were some from our tour that stayed in other hotels and one group even stayed on the boat in Luxor. Once we got into the tour, the communication was much better with Happy Tours as they would provide an update the night before and provide details for the next day. There were several conflicts within the information they provided which was frustrating at times. It should be noted while this trip is listed as a “private” tour this was not the case for all of it. The first day in Cairo and the last day in Alexandria was a private tour, but the time in Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Abu Simbel is all group tours of about 20-30 people. Day 1: Our tour guide in Cairo was very nice and knowledgeable, and it was overall a very good day. Our biggest disappointment was that we did not go to the Grand Egyptian Museum as advertised. We instead went to The National Museum Egyptian Civilization. While nice, we missed out on the King Tut artefacts which we were really looking forward to. Day 2: The Hot Air Ballons were FANTASTIC. We felt rushed through the Valley of the Kings but still got to see most everything. We did not have time to see any of the other tombs within the complex. We had about 30 minutes of free time at the other sites on the day. Day 3: These sites felt a little rushed as well, we had about a 30-minute intro into at each site and about 30 minutes to walk around ourselves. We felt we got to see everything, but it was rushed. Day 4: The day at Abu Simbel was nice, but the tour starts at 3:30 in the morning abord a large Coach bus to get there in time. This was nice so you could sleep for most of the trip there. After the trip to Abu Simbel, the guide told us that we could do an optional tour to the Nubian Village for lunch. We questioned if we would have time and how we would get our bags as we would have already checked out of the cruise ship. All we ever got in response was “don’t worry”. In reality, the cruise ship overnights in Aswan and the bags are held in storage after check-out. I can’t recommend the Nubian Village lunch as we paid $40 per person and all we did was have lunch, once lunch was over, we were rushed out and had no time to walk through the village. Day 5: This was a great private day trip to Alexandria. We never felt rushed on this trip and the information provided was great. The biggest time waste on this tour is that admission to the sites isn’t included in the tour, which means we had to wait in a ticket line to purchase tickets at every site. This wasn’t too bad for the private tours, but for the group tours we probably wasted 25% of the time just waiting for everyone to get tickets. Would have been better for the tour company to purchase the tickets in advance and not have to wait in line on an already limited timeframe. Overall, we really enjoyed our tour and got everything we wanted out of it. The communication could have been MUCH better, but everything worked out. Based on previous reviews, we had expected the chaos and went into the tour with the plan to just go with it.
