This 4-day Bayeux stay combines historic charm, moving World War II sites, and one of France’s most iconic landmarks. Enjoy the comfort of centrally located 3*, 4* or 5* accommodation, convenient transfers, and guided small-group excursions that reveal the best of Normandy at a relaxed pace.

Arrival in Bayeux and First Impressions

Your trip begins with a seamless transfer from Bayeux train station to your hotel, where you check in and settle into this beautifully preserved medieval town. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore Bayeux at your own rhythm: wander cobblestone streets, admire the Gothic cathedral, and soak up the atmosphere of its historic center. If time allows, don’t miss the chance to see the UNESCO-listed Bayeux Cathdral, an unforgettable introduction to the region’s rich past.

Mont-Saint-Michel Excursion

This full day focuses on the legendary Mont-Saint-Michel, one of France’s most iconic monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a scenic coastal drive, you reach the rocky island and follow your guide through the narrow streets of the village, climbing gradually to the Benedictine abbey at the summit. Inside the abbey, a guided visit reveals the history and architecture of this remarkable sanctuary, while free time allows you to explore the ramparts, browse shops, or enjoy lunch at your own pace before heading back to Bayeux.

Normandy D-Day Beaches and Battlefields

This full day is dedicated to the major D-Day landing sites and memorials that shaped the outcome of World War II. Departing from a central meeting point in Bayeux, you travel with your guide to key locations such as Utah Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église, Pointe du Hoc, and Omaha Beach, where you learn how the landings unfolded and the heavy price paid for liberation. The day culminates at the moving Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, where rows of white crosses and a sweeping view over the sea invite reflection before you return to Bayeux in the late afternoon.

Comfortable Stay and Convenient Departures

Throughout your stay, nights are spent in a carefully selected 3*, 4* or 5* hotel in Bayeux, giving you time to enjoy the town’s restaurants and evening ambiance. Alex was the most experienced, knowledgeable, and chilled tour guide of all the 5 tour guides we experienced. We learned a lot from him about the culture, history, and geology of the region. He also provided great context to understand the regions' wines. This tour to Cassis and the calanques was beautiful and would get a 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that this expensive tour did not include lunch. The wine tasting was good but I had better in Bordeaux and it included lunch.
