Traveler reviews
Complete failure - highly unprofessional - zero Service - cheating
I asked this company to organize a Egypt trip over Christmas. After the initial downpayment things started to become very unprofessional. I ended up booking the most important parts of the trip myself (luckily) since Mr. Torky has either no clue or does not care. Hotels and Ships were naturally very busy at this time of the year but in order to maximize profits cheap hotels and a very broken ship was selected. Torky gave us also the wrong ship name so that double checking before did not work. Essentially this company has nothing more than a fancy website where they offer day trips to different venues. If you wish to go to a site they will just call a free lancing guide and driver and sent them to pick you up. (Something everyone who reads this comment should do from now on) This may or may not work depending on the quality of the local guide. If you want more complex things or service - they fail miserably. Therefore you will find several Emo Tours on tripadvisor. In order to avoid bad reviews they created for every single attraction a different Emo tour entity. This is actually something Tripadvisor should look into. In general the whole Nile cruise turned out to be totally miserable since the ship was broken / not safe and thanks to overcrowding there was not much of a cruise since the ships (100 or more) were constantly in traffic jam. A proper tour agency would have know that. Every local knew that - but Emo Tours just did give a ... about it. Too sad that Egypt has returned to this stage. I am looking forward to the next crisis when once again tourists are missing and Egyptians have to come to their senses.
The best tour company
We are a retired couple from the USA We researched local tour companies a lot on TripAdvisor and nailed in on Emo Tours. Oh man! where do I start?? Let us start with M. Torky our agent. I would give him 10 stars if I could. He was not only efficient and attentive, he was very humble and giving. All the bookings and itinerary went like clockwork with no snags. Then came the driver and guide in Cairo. Driver Mohammed El Gazawey and Egyptologist (guide) Salwa were absolutely wonderful!! Driver was a careful and patient driver. So eager to please! Salawa was very educated and skilled in her knowledge of Egypt. We were lucky to have this team for the entire 4 days in Cairo. A day trip to Alexandria brought another local guide who was very good. She was informed and patient. Next we went to Luxor and were met with a driver ( Ahmed) and a helper and transported to our hotel Smiley Ahmed was fantastic. He was a careful driver as well. There was a confusion ( our fault) regarding the cruise check in and our guide Carlos called us right away and put us at ease. Spoke fluent English. He met us the next day on time. Ahmed was spot on time as well. After some sight seeing, we were transferred to the boat and we were surprised to see that Carlos was to sail with us and take us to venues when we docked! He kept checking on us the entire trip to see if we needed anything. When in the Temple of Philae, I lost my Iphone and Carlos went out of his way to ensure that I found it! When we docked in Aswan, we had Carlos and another driver take us around. A wonderful trip in Aswan as well. The driver met us at the boat and take us to the temple at 5 am! I highly recommend Eno Tours. Start to finish, they held our hand and made sure that they gave us the best experience ever. The 24 hour customer service was a great help. We kept asking them questions and they never lost patience. The itinerary was packed and had a huge variety including felucca rides, motor boats and visit to a park They booked our hotels and the cruise ( Blue Shadow 1) which was from the Princess Cruise Lines. If you are looking for a great tour company, look no further. Emo Tours is top of the pile.
An overall very disappointing experience - would not recommend
Very disappointing experience for the hefty price paid. First, communication was very difficult with the organising company, they did not answer our questions and did not communicate a clear schedule and programme for the boat tour. Second, the boat was supposedly recently renovated but it was in poor conditions, the cabin was smelly, the sheets we slept in were overused, everything on the boat felt old and used. Third, the guide that they gave us was barely able to answer our basic questions on the monuments or egyptology...and fourth, they kept on rushing us to do our temple visits but in the end the boat was delayed and we missed all the cruising on the Nile between Esna and Luxor because we had to do it by night. No compensation offered. Overall a very poor experience that I would not recommend. Only positive is the food that was good.
Fantastic experience and supported very well by our guide Mr Ahmed
We were very fortunate to have Mr Ahmed as our consulting guide and advisor for our main touring schedule in Egypt (Abu Simbel, Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatsheptut,Luxor and Karnak temples etc) from 17/1/24 -21/12/24. Mr Ahmed’s in-depth knowledge of Egyptian history, culture, customs, insight of the local area and his expertise in Egyptology enlightened us of various historical facts and local stories not found in any relevant books. Mr Ahmed was very friendly flexible , co operative, patient and responded to our various queries on various historic sites. We wish him the very best for future endeavours. Nile Cruise Aswan -Luxor with Mohamed Amin (Bob)
We booked our trip from Aswan to Luxor with Emo Tours (Nile Cruise). Our guide, Mohamed Amin (Bob) created an amazing experience for us. He is very knowledgeable, always following your requests and adapting the schedule. We had a fully private tour (comfortable transportation). We had 2 small kids with us, so he made sure we made all the visits at the best time, when it's not crowded. We visited several temples ( Philae, Edfu, Luxor, Karnak, Kom-Ombo), the valley of the kings, the Memnon statues, the Aswan bots, Nubian village... He speaks several languages. We had an amazing time during our Nile Cruise with Mohamed. We do highly recommend him as a guide.
